hello! I'm new to the nitro rc world. i just got my self a HPI rush for my birthday yesterday.

I'm wanting to upgrade the radio to a 2.4GHZ system and add the fail safe deal in case my remote dies.

will this work?

also need a place to buy replacement parts/upgrades. and want more power so a simple bolt on motor would be awesome!:D

and any tips for a noob would great to!

ALSO! I'm thinking about getting a redcat earthquake 3.0 its new for $200. any one know if this is a good 4wd truck? if not can someone recomend a good 4wd for around the same price?

is it rush or rush evo like meeee (jus wana know)

also why upgrade now on my oppinion the original hpi one is fine untill you deffinatly want to get into the sport

fail safe get it and not too sure on outher questions

You should spend time learning how to operate and tune your stock setup. There's no sense in shelling out the cash for a high-end engine when you probably will need time to learn how to control the stock setup. And get it to run right.

As stated above, is it the original Rush, or the Evo? That radio will work, but you can do a lot better for not much more money here.

For parts and upgrades go here www.hpiracing.com and find your model and the part numbers you want, then just do a Google shopping search to see who carries the items you need.

Upgrade wise, I had the alloy rear chassis brace, worth every penny. Adjustable turnbuckles, also worth it. And the carbon shock towers which I would never have again as they splinter in a big crash. I had some decent shocks that I bought, worth it too.

Motor wise, I had an O.S. .15 in mine, and it hauled nicely. Pretty much any hot .12 to .18 small block should do nicely.

Now you're making me want to dig mine out of the closet and resurrect it. :)

fail :(

thanks for the replys. i went out today to have some fun with car today. having problems with the carb and it not wanting go when i get it started.

took it to a shop and they tell me the carb is gummed up and i have a stripped tranny. he tested the tranny by hold the gears and rolling it backwords, and it made a clicking sound.

i took it home got it apart. and the gear the drive axles hook up to has bad gears in it that are getting stuck. but the gears in it look fine and have all there teeth. guess ill just replace this gear.

as for the carb. i have never worked on a carb like this( use to working on dirt bikes and four wheelers) any advice on getting it cleaned out?

ok got the truck running! just need a little tunning help.

I'm not sure if its right or not, but theres blue smoke when its just sitting idle. not alot but enough to notice. and alot more when wide open. how do i tell if its to rich or to lean?
