just a question on the HPI gears, they offer for the 2 speed. there are the red yellow and purple, i currently have the purple installed, but i was wondering which set of gears offered quicker acceleration and which ones offered better top end. i have been looking around and just can't seem to find anything and i dont really want to buy the other two sets to just test. was wondering if anyone out there knew anything on these gears.

is a gear with less teeth going to give better accel or will a gear with more teeth give better accel

or will a gear with less teeth give better top end or a gear with more teeth give better top end?

Depends on if it's the pinion or the spur. The lower the pinion, the more low end grunt. The higher the tooth count the more top end.
On the spur it's opposite. Less teeth, more top end.

ok thanks for the help, i think that solves it for me, i had an idea of what to do, but i wanted to just confirm.

Just lowering the spur by two teeth can make a great difference. If you go too far, you'll have a slow take off and overheating problems.

I believe it goes yellow for acceleration, purple in the middle, then red for top end.
