Just picked up a new HPI PRO 4 and am looking for a good place to pick up some cells. I was also wondering if a stick type battery pack will fit in this car or if I will definately need to have the cells in a saddle type configuration to line up with the slots in the chasis?

Thanks for the help!

Hey thanks for the websites, it is greatly appreciated. I plan to race competively, I will check out the 3800's.

SMC's

I ended up taking a drive out to my LHS this morning and picked up 2 packs of SMC 3800's. Now the dreaded task of assembly! :hammer:

get a battery jig and a hot soldering iron. it takes me about 10 minutes to assemble battery packs.

i just received 4 battery packs from EAmotorsports with some sweet numbers. 1.2+ Volts and the IR is 1.9 or lower. These numbers were based on a 35A discharge rate. i can't wait to try them out.

Iron

What kind of iron is best for soldering battery packs?

i use a hakko 936. you can use any iron as long as it can get hot enough. i think 60watts is good enough. the trick is to solder the batteries with minimal heat exposure to the cells. make sure you use soldering flux and rosin core solder.
