I have a HPI MT2. The steering on it is completely crazy and I don't know what to do to correct it. When I push down on the front until it bottoms out, both front tires turn outward at least 1/4". All the front end parts have been replaced with aluminum. (I didn't do it!) Also I have to limit the travel of turning because it will blow the dog bones right out. This thing runs around in the yard just fine but if I put it out on the road, the steering is so crazy that it might just go anywhere, and it's real bad when I try to stop. I don't see anything I can adjust to correct this. Did the replacement of all the stock parts w/ the aluminum parts cause this? I read the PDF instructions for assembly and I don't see any info on how to adjust steering problems. Help please.

The turnbuckles may be on the wrong side of the steering knuckle. If they're mounted on top, try em on the bottom and vice versa.

Try and post some pics. I rebuilt a MT2 I got off another member on here earlier in the winter and if I can see what you are talking about I may be able to point you in the right direction. A couple pics of how the front end is set up if popssible

I am working nights. I will look at it tomorrow when I get up. I will also have to look at what photo program I have available to resize pictures so I can upload them.

I think Metelhead has it figured out. The assembly instructions show to mount the balls and rod ends on the bottom. They are presently on the top. (I didn't do it!) I will flip them over and let you know what happens.

Metalhead, you guys are just amazing in the knowledge you have with this hobby. I hope some day I can learn at least half of what you guys know. Thank you. It worked.
