:\ hi i am hoping someone can put me out of my misery i recently bought a hpi mt2 and can not for the life of me get it running right it is used and ran in it starts fairly easily but as soon as i apply even the slightest bit of throttle it dies instantly.
i reset both screws to factory settings , which i am led to believe is flush primed it etc etc but no joy , it is my sons 15 tomorrow and was hoping to get it runing for his birthday please help ladies and gentleman :)

Those are finicky little motors. Use your throttle trim to idle it up a bit when you first start it. Let it warm up a bit then with the wheels off the ground, goose it a couple of times to clear the carb. Then you should be able to set it down and run it from there at which time you need to lean it out as necessary. I alway started mine on a stand (coffee can). Hope this helps.

cheers for that only problem the second i touch the throttle i dies will adjusting as you suggested stop this ??? sorry i am new to all this oh should of said this in first post but the air filter was soaked in something could it be fuel ???

Your air filter should be soaked in filter oil. That's probably what it is. On your remote there's a throttle trim. Trim it up to get higher revs upon starting or slowly trim it after it's started. You may need to slightly lean your HSN ( high speed needle ) It's best to do all your adjusting on that thing with the wheels off the ground. You can use anything to set it on, you don't have to have a special stand. I even used an old cell phone box for a while.
