HPI Just lost a customer (Rant)

I havent received my backplate that HPI said they were going to send me 2 weeks ago so I called them up today to find out why. The part is currently on backorder and they have no idea when they will get it or be able to ship it to me. Every time I call their customer service they are always rude to me even though I am more than nice to them.... :(

So now I am stuck with 450.00 RC truck that I can't use. Thanks a lot HPI but I think its time to move on....

In the meantime what is a good replacement motor? I am hearing nothing but good things about wasp and collari...

sorry to hear that. i hate backorders but sometimes you have to deal with it. i waited three weeks to get some rims and tires to find out the 3rd week that the rims are on back order.

You can at least use yours will old tires. Mine is completely useless at this point. The thing that really bugs me about this is that the kid who took the call 2 weeks ago had to have known it was on backorder and didnt bother to tell me. I could have tried to order it some place or replace the motor in general had I known there was going to be a wait.
 
That does suck, and they should have told you about it sooner, but it really isn't HPI's fault, theres nothing they can do about the backplate.

I suggest a Wasp .28 engine if you are going to replace your engine...

I dont blame them for the backplate breaking at all, just the way I have been treated thus far. I havent been able to find a backplate online anywhere. When I do a search for it at towerhobby.com I always get rotostarts as results. Ah well, I am more pissed right now than anything. I'm sure once I cool down later I will take a second look at all of this...
 
its the plate that the roto start attaches to. I will try and hunt down a pic that I posted last week.

uh i didnt have any rims or tires with my k46 cause i sold the stock dirt bonz and rims brand new.
 
this part should work for you. all of hpi's savage motors are based off of the same block with different p/s combo's. the bolt pattern for this plate should be the same as the one off your .25.

if you want the whole package theres that too.

actually i just checked hpi's parts list for both the BB21 and the S-25 and they list the exact same part # for the cover plate set. so that part from tower will get you up and running.
 
no problem, just clean that stuff off my leg please, i gotta rep to look out for.

I have a backplate for the .25 engine. The piston and sleeve wore out so I stuck in a Collari. I will sell pieces of this motor if you need them. backplate, roto plate, stock head, case, etc. let me know.
