That looks cool. I might see if I can swing that.

How do they handle the starting of Nitro cars? What happens if you get up to the starting line and you have trouble getting your engine running?

I am not sure as this will be my first HPI Challenge event. My LHS, Bruckner Hobbies has organized and sponsored the HPI Challenge before and will be this years organizer/sponsor again. I am sure you can contact Bruckner Hobbies at 314 West Route 59 - Nanuet, New York 10954 - Phone @ 845-627-3631 and ask for Brian if need more info on this event.
There are some rules and info here http://www.hpiracing.com/challenge/2004/chal2k4-usarules.htm

I am registering for the HPI Challenge. Hope to see you there.

I will be there, just for Saturday. Yea don't like running my savage on asphalt, so only 1 day for me. See you guys there.

will be there to hope fully we can meet up and i also heard bruckner is opening a dirt track to that well be nice

Yeah, I'm a little disapointed that they won't have the dirt track up and running for the HPI challenege, maybe next year. I will attend either way since thanks to QURC, I got some on-road experience :)

I spoke with Tom Jr. the other day and he is expecting most of the entries to come in this week, especially with the freebies given to those who sign up by the 11th. I'm already signed up so Savage class should be full soon if not already.

I held out to the last day for a freebie HPI body to sign up which was today. Plus I wanted to see how many would sign up for the Savage class since HPI had originally thought about not running a Savage class due to safety concerns of such a BIG truck possibly getting loose and flying over a baricade.
Anyways, I am lucky 13 on the list....RM

Does anyone who is going have a small ramp they wanna bring
The college that the HPI Challenge is at has some big fields and parking lots to bash on.
It would be pretty cool to have an after bash fest :)

cool deal.....bring it along with some bashing rides

well don't ya just hate rules?
I just found out that there will be no type of dirt for the Savages to compete on and all the trucks will be competing on the touring car track. HPI also has ruled out that the Savage class must use HPI Savage wheels and tires. This would really suck racing on pavement. The truck is unstable on pavement already. However, HPI rules states that any mods can be done to the truck without changing the wheel base and chassis. So, I am gonna have to do some suspension tuning for the next few days seeing what would work best for street racing.

They are allowing any aftermarket motor. I wonder if my stock motor will be able to keep up. :dumb:

yeah, I am running stock motor also. But I talked to Brian from Bruckner Hobbies and he says he may try and talk HPI into running stock and modified power class for Savage. HPI will be around this Friday.
