I recently bought a HPI Savage 25 w/ roto start and I am haveing a huge problem with the one way berrings blowing out. It is actually spinning the berring inside the berring sleve.

Is there any thing I can do to help or prevent this.

When I am starting it I do no more than just bump the roto starter to start it.

Thanks

Actually the one way will last quite some time if you don't try to turn over a flooded engine. Even when cared for properly one ways will still go south on you from time to time so it's good to keep a couple of extra on hand. Also if any fuel seeps past the rotostart/backplate seal and gets on the shaft it will also cause the one way to slip on the crankshaft. If you've got a dirty rotostart housing then open it up and see if it's dirty inside and if so try cleaning it and the one way as long as the one way housing isn't cracked.

If you call Hot Bodies they can get you straight on A bigger Back plate and one-way bearing Alot tuffer than stock. Thats what I had to do. I have the stock #'s if you want them mad katz

That would be sweet if you could hook me up with the part numbers. I have tired the stock berrings and one other aftermarket berring that was recomended by my local hobby shop, I didn't have any luck with it either. Neither of them lasted more than a couple tanks, I' ve just barely got through break in process.
When I have taken it apart to replace I have not noticed any excess fuel in the starter case that would susgest that the back plate is leaking. keep in mind that I have only ran 5 tanks of fuel through this thing and have already went through 2 berrings. I do not abuse the starter have not held it for more than 3 sec. when starting.

thanks for the info

GW63 can you give me those numbers too please. I am trying to see if the roller I want to buy is worth it if I get these. Thanks

All right go those stock #s you have to get the back plate from hotbodies, HB part # 1311 and you can the bearing from just any on line hobby site it's HPI part # HPI1669 Hope that they help you. that should be all you need
