I was wondering if there are any existing threads on how to replace brake discs and pads on the LST2. Any help would be much appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of.

YOu have to take the trans out. To get my trans out, I had to take the engine out.

You can get at the trans screws from the bottom. There are 4 big ones and one or two little ones, I think only one and it's threaded through the brake disk holder. The spur gard is held onto the chassis by a couple button head screws that you will need to remove the spurs to get at.

you definately have to take the tranny out, I tried to change them without doing that but no luck.

Thanks for your advice. I took the tranny out and put in a pair of Integy graphite rotors as well as a new set of Losi composite brake pads. This new set-up was too tight and the brakes were binding even after I loosened the brake linkage as much as possible. I think I'll have to go back to the original Losi steel rotors, as I think the Integy rotors are slightly thicker. I also now have a problem of the rear-wheel drive not working.:( What is the best way to trouble-shoot this problem?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Regarding the problem of the rear-wheel drive not working, the rear wheels spin when not slight load at first, then they quit spinning altogether. When I lift the car in the air and feed the engine some nitro, the rear trans outdrive cup set does not spin at all.

I suspect that I did not install the trans back properly.

If the tranny is the problem, what could the possibilities be?

Check that the rear outdrive us tightened and the grub screw is in the flat spot of the axle.

yeah dont drive it again until you check the grub screw on the outdrive cup because you can round off the shaft and then you have to take the tranny apart again.

I replaced the original steel brake discs and tightened the grub screw and that fixed all the problems. The brakes work great now, and if I'm not careful, the car does endos on the grass.

I took the tranny out twice in one day, and that has really improved my understanding of the LST2.

Thanks for all your help. Appreciate it.
