I'm having a hell of a time keeping this k46 motor from shifting. i've stripped 7 spur gears since new 2/15/05  i've tried lock-tite on the screws no worky, i tried loose mesh where it just touches enough like my t-maxx still strips. i hit a few jumps but damn this is ridiculous. my last spur taoday meshed just right, lock-tite on screws, and a 1/2 turn out on the spur nut and it still stripped all the teeth off.

whats an alternative to this? is there a better motor mount plate, or motor mount?

did you let Loc-tite cure? I like to let it cure overnite. Thats me.

I'm with Jon sounds like the loc-tite hasnt had a chance to cure, you might want to try some lock washers that might help too.

so should have soaked the screws and let them set over night? i put lock-tite on them and applyed the screws. i was thinking of some lock washers, but hadnt got around to a place that has them. this is beeen my main problem ffrom this thing. just wont stay still for some reason. i even bought some new mount screw today.

anything at this point will help. I'm gonna try my luck and go with steel.

Wlell I say use the Blue medium loctite and let it cure over nite. A little goes a loooong way.

Slop some JB Weld around the base of the motor mounts. That puppy won't move for nothing! Then again, It won't come off easily either. At least it won't move!

I'm not kidding either. I know of a person that did it out of frustration because his engine kept on shifting as well. Needless to say, when he changed the pinion, the chisle and hammer cam out to get the JB Weld off.

One or two drops is enouf.

Lock tite will not cure if any of it is exposed to air...
Allways wipe of any exposed lock tite...

I'm gonna try the over night cure thing and see how it goes. man my terrain is rough loose sandstone like dirt, but it shouldn't be moving like this. i just put the thing on before iwent out bashing for 2 tanks.
