This is awesome. Sport Compact Car took a stock Sentra (with big wheels and body kit thing) and hacked it up to see just how fast they could go without spending a dollar. There are a bunch of pics and stuff on the link below. The thread was started a year ago, but I just found it last week. It's interesting, funny and worth a look.

The car: 2001 Sentra SE

Before
Curb Weight: 2,762 lbs
1/4 Mile:16.3 @ 84.0 mph
60-foot:2.9 sec.
0-60 mph:8.6 sec.

After
Curb Weight:1,674 lbs
1/4 Mile:14.3 @ 93.2 mph
60-foot:2.6 sec.
0-60 mph:5.8 sec.

14.3 is pretty quick considering the best 60 foot they got was a 2.6... that's horrible.

Yeah it's amazing what over 1000 pounds of stuff will do to a vehicles speed! That's crazy they hacked that thing up like that. I hope no one ever loses control while testing it.

but they left the b pillar on the drivers side and they left it taller than the driver, just in case it flipped or rolled

Do you really think if that thing rolled that one pillar would do much of anything? How about you go roll it a few times and let us know....

Ha, by leaving the B pillar there his head would only hit the concrete at 50 mph as opposed to 55 mph. It might help a little bit since the car doesn't weigh anything though. The effect it has on the drivers sense of safety is probably the only thing it's really good for.

i senn that in in the mag last year is is pretty sweet exspecially if you had the mag and they took you through step by step

therir copying hot rod magazine
hr didi that with a big as cadallac and they made it lieke 3 seconds faster ran a 15.30 i think

I would think the car would buckle under itself if you hit any bumps. Convertibles need a beefier chassis. Part of the structural integrity of a unibody chassis is the roof and the pillars.

I saw that awhile back. It's crazy sweet. I think they should put the wing back on and maybe a a few NOS stickers because both at alot of HP ya know.....
