Enough's enough this truck is awsome but I am tierd of reading about small problems that I and every other LST owner is having.
I heard about how to bullet proof a savage once from an experienced user on this web site and I think we all would like the formula and parts list for the losi.

I have had since hour one a cracked or broken front diff that cliks when braking and a clutch that gave a revo and savage a 10 truck lead before I caught up to them. The truck is so fast and fun that i thought it was acting normal.

I have ordered Nova metal shoe's and springs.
Replaced upper front arms with aluminum one's
I recomend getting all four replaced because my front lowers just went.
installed 5-cell rechargeable batt's
I have not had any problems with my dog bones yet but have had the set screw loosen up on drive shaft.
I have yet to experience the (washer problem) in the motor yet
no problem with the hi low gear selector yet
Still dont know what diffs to purchase not that someone should have to for track bashing with a $600 dollor MT.

I am such a fan of monster trucks and love working on them but its the amount of run time that makes the wrenching and waiting for parts worth while.

It stinks when your LHS doesn't have the most common parts that break in stock.

I have bought a revo, savage and LST in the last month because i wanted to find out which one was the best buy. I just want to have fun at my local track and I mean hours of fun not a half of tank or two.

who can give all of us a list of Hop-up's and links to company that have the parts in stock now!!!!! I'm starting to think I should not of sold the revo and savage. Is any one running ther LST on safe dirt tracks and not braking it every time.

What to do????????

Hi I'm running mostly new era parts such as arms, skids, and so on, they have them in stock and they will blow integy stuff out the door! also dynamite has most everything if you're into the colored aluminum!

I know how to bulletproof an LST......either armor plate the body and put giand discs over the sides of the wheels....or
buy a Savage.....
I've seen guys run those LSTs and they look awsome when they run.....but they are ALWAYS wrenching something....they seem to be the only guys wrenching more than me at the track LOL....I went that custom truggy way and I pay for it too.....I think I'll be looking at the new savage next.....

I'm hearing you should do the washer mod. That its a matter of time before the washer goes. For some its relatively soon, for others a couple gallons.

I just pulled mine after break-in. Its an easy job. The washer was a bit cone shaped, but still in decent shape. I'm not risking it....

what washer mod are you talking about??..my lst is still brand new and I'm clueless as to what you are talkin about....thanx..

ApriliaRacer:

According to the link you put on here (yes I read the whole tread) they say that the new LST's do not have the washer installed.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily trust that. The two LSTs I have which are new since Xmas both had the washer in them. The receiver box serial numbers are 76xxxxx and 86xxxxx.

It doesn't take much time to remove the engine and check (if you are somewhat mechancially inclined). Personally, I'd do it now, remove the engine and check as opposed to having to do it IF the engine stops running.

Your call, but you've been warned ;)

well, Mine's number 002664, so I guess I'll start taking it apart and see what it looks like. I'll let you guys know and maybe even post a pic. It's got about a gallon through it

I have #9215 and I had the washer in... I promptly removed it. I'm glad I did, because only after about 2 gallons, the washer was pretty warped and worn. I believe they fixed the problem after about #10K.

I would start with bulkheads. On my savage, I bought aluminum bulkheads, then aluminum arms. My LST is still stock, but I'm working on it!

Losi is making aluminum diff housings in both blue and polished colors. They are cast aluminum so they will be heavier and a little weaker than billet, but they also only cost 9.99 or 11.99 a piece. I will be getting a set of these myself to try. The secondary gear cover is also a good idea to keep rocks and debris out of the gears.

The only things I have had trouble with are the diff housing and wheel pins. I have broken two wheel pins, and my dad and I both have cracked the front diff housings.

Washer update from OZ

LST purchased Jan 05 from an Aussie dealer in Perth

Less than 10 standard tanks very rich and lots of smoke opened the motor
without snapping any screws to find WASHER thanks to this forum for saving
my M26 from certain terminal

List o stuff

Here's a list of things i've had to buy

Losi aluminum diff cases
Lexan backplate for tranny
Dynamite engine brace (the aluminum piece that ties the main chassis plate to the center skid)
Two differential collars ( I wish someone would start making these in aluminum)
Lots of thread lock.

My LST is use for bashing in some pretty rough areas, like construction sites. So what you need may change dependning on your driving habits and what you use the truck for.

Hope this helps
