RC Driving Style
Keep in mind. I know nothing about electrics.

Lets say I had the sh!t car with the sh!t motor and the sh!t batteries.

How long can I run the car before the batteries are dead?
How long do the batteries last? As in long term life?
How long do the motors last?

Too many variables. Length of run time is dependant on your driving style. WOT will drain them faster obviously. Your choice in batteries are also a deciding factor in run time (quality and size).
How long a battery lasts will depend on battery maintenance. Proper charging/dis-charging. How you treat them on the track, what kind of heat they are subjected too. Good battery maintenance can give 1000's of charges. Motors.....same thing. Good maintenance, i.e., keeping them clean, oiling the bearings, brush/spring replacement as needed will ensure long life. There is so much info regarding battery types and care that this post would get too long. Do a google/dogpile search on Nicd or Nimh maintenance and care and read up. I will try and find some good links as well for you.

lets just say all circumstances were optimal.

batteries

dude electric cars trucks all depend on battery I've got my rustler and monster touring motor motor geared for max speed theres an equation that makes tis an easy task but my cheesy battery dont do much as far as speed or run time but my trinity $ 100 battery is like nite and day. proper care for a batt is charge fully race immed. till all the way drained. only use once daily

If every thing you listed is crap, here's my educated opinion:
1. Not long.
2. Not very long.
3. Probably not too long.

Hope that helps. :D

Depends on what you are running also. My crawler will get 2+ hours on a single 2s lipo charge, but my brushless rc18 will only get about 30 min on a 3s lipo.
My old rustler would get about 5 minutes on a 1500mah nicd with crappy speeds. But my mini-t would get 20 min hard running on a small 6cell nicd.

The problem is you haven't told us what kind of RC it is, what kind of batteries, and what kind of power system.

For example, a crawler with a high torque motor will get well over 2 hours on a very small battery (2000-3000 mah) with a huge servo. But a brushed race rig might get 7 minutes with a (3000 mah nimh). A brushless rig with LiPo that is just as fast or faster, might get 40 minutes on a 6000 mah 2S LiPo battery.

To properly answer your question, you can run a vert fast brushless RC with a high capacity LiPo battery, and get 45 minutes or better on a single charge.

I had an RC10T4 with a Sidewinder 4600 brushless system and a maxamps.com 2S 6000HV mah LiPo battery, and it hauled ass. WIth that battery I could get 30 to 40 minutes of run time running it pretty hard.

e-savage with novak HV pro and a pair of 2S 8000hv lipo's. (maxamps) easily 30+ minutes

firestorm with mamba max 6900 and a 6000 2S lipo (maxamps) 25-30 minutes max

i have a stock e-savage with a pair of tenergy 3800mah nimh packs runtime is around 15 minutes. i donno if you have looked at prices but the sh!t car and batteries and motor your talking about would most likely cost almost as much if not more than your rc cost new you would also have to replace the esc if the one thats in it didnt support brushless and lipo.

edit:: did anyone else notice this post is from april of 04 lmao i didnt till after i posted...

Haha wow, Noobs Always bring back posts from years ago

lol maybe we are the noobs for going a bunch of posts without noticing...

Well since it seems we're making a list for comparison reasons...

I have a Lazer ZX5 1/10 buggy with a Mamba Max 5700. I can't remember the pinion size but I get a solid 20min. with a 4200 Nimh pack

LMFAO!
Boy, are we stupid.
Poor NooP. He waited almost 3 1/2 years for the first reply to his thread. No wonder we haven't seen him around.

lmao rolex is still slow the first reply was in april of 04 it wasn't till the 3rd or 4th that it got brought up recently.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was off a little.
