I'm getting ready to fire up my savage x for the first time and I'm wondering about the glow plug ignitor and hump pack charge times? I know there's smart chargers and all that, but I just have the wall plug in chargers and I want to run it for now. How long do I charge the HPI 1200mah hump pack for? Also how long do I charge the glow plug ignitor for? I received no charging instructions with these items. I don't want to over charge them and ruin them! Thanks in advance!

You won't be able to over charge them with the wall charger. It'll probably take all of 12-16 hours to charge them. When they're warm, they're charged.

Thanks Matt! How long will I get out of each one with a full charge?

You'll get quite a few starts off of the ignitor, as long as you get the engine started rather quickly. The rx pack will last an hour or so. A good peak charger is a must have in my opinion.

On the same, which peak charger would work? I have a duratrax onyx 230 but no adapter and not sure if that will work with the humpback. Also have an accucel 6....

If you have this one:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTCK1&P=ML

It will work for just about anything!

Charges 1-8 cell NiCd or NiMH (1.2 - 9.6V) cells and 1-3 cell LiPo,
Li-Ion or LiFe (3.7 - 11.1V) cells
Fully adjustable charge currents and multi-chemistry adaptability
for a wide range of applications

What kind of plug does it have on it?

You can get this if you have JR radio:

This for hitec/airtronics:

Comes with a hump pack/receiver type plug as well.

The difference between the two is that the JR is wired backwards compared to others for the transmitter. So is spektrum. You could use your charger to charge it all.

This for a heater:

I use much older NiMH/NiCAD only peak chargers, but they get the job done.
