Why is the 3-Speed a bad design?

Anything that involves taking the trans out and fully dismantling it to adjust a gear change is a bad design in my book. Its alright for 2nd-3rd gear adjustment (normal way), but having to dismantle the trans to adjust 1-2...I can't call that a good design. :hammer:

Ignoring that its a good design trans, all metal gears except 1, changes smooth etc...but still....

its a great design!
If you haven't even opened and used it yet how can you say its a good design??

Anyway, just my opinon

Because i was shown it in great detail in the model shop. I have also seen pictures of it dismantled and assembled.
THATS how i know its a good design.

Not wanting to get into an argument or anything (hate those sort of theads, so please don't take this the wrong way).

What about it do you think is a good design? Just interested in someone elses opinon as I didn't see it that way. Pictures don't always do something justice.

Because from what I've seen, the gears are all tightly compact and dont take much space in the car. Also the gears are a good quality and all threaded neatly. Sure its annoying if you have to dis-assemble the gears to change the 1st-2nd but once you have dont that correctly, you leave them alone!

Plus if the tranny design annoys you so much, dont use the savage!

touchy...very touchy....I love the savage and will continue using it, but that doesn't mean that its perfect in every way!!!

Have you actually assembled one? felt the slop in the gears on the main shaft (with it out of the trans case)?

Anyway, just remember its only a toy!!! Enough from me, have fun with it when you get to have a play...you will love it.

Well having to un assemble the gears just to tweak the shift is abit of an annoyance but its nothing to get frustrated about.
No model car is flawless....but the savaage is one that is nearly flawless and very well designed. You pay more you get more. Plus you could always down grade to the standard tranny without the 3 speed. The 3 speed doesn't do much anyway, just makes it go abit faster. You could also get a bigger spur gear if there is one that would fit the savage.
