my ribbed pipe on my savage seems to get twice as hot as it did with my last motor anybody know why,i've never had my motors over 240,but yet with this collari my pipe gets smok'n hot, melting my bodies.my wasp 28 and hpi 25 never got this hot that i can remenber.i ran 20% and 30% in all three motors, also mostly mc 59's.

i haven't a clue as to why that mill runs that hot ,i can not answer that but i can help you save your bodies ,
go to the local hardware and and ask for foil tape ,it looks and feels like a really thick aluminum foil that has a glue backing and it is heat resistant
that will really help save the melting body problem

new fuel? lean? right pipe for right engine? (.18 pipe on an .18, .21 pipe on a .21, etc.)

.30 my sts 28 was melting the poop out of pull cords, the head would be scorching and the header was hot as heck. I was running 30% then too. Temps were around 250-260 when i came in to pit. It melted bodies too. I never firgured out what the hell was going on either.

depends on how thin the metal is on the pipe. Higher performance engines do create a little bit more heat. The model boaters use ceramic coated pipes. It is coated on the inside. It gets its max heat but is warm to the touch on the outside.

Some pipes even have a small "bladder" inside em to keep the outside temp down, It all depends on the manufacturer and such.

The hotter the pipe the better. A hotter pipe is more effective in the scavenging process.
