Talked to a guy today that just ordered a $122 servo for his buggy since he had stripped out 3 in a short time.
I'm just wondering if anyone else with that car has any recommendations on which servo and servo saver combo works out best.

Well, I have the HS-645MG in my savage and an XTM X-77 in my X-Terminator. The XTM is rated 77 oz./in. @ 4.8 volts and 0.15 sec. and it is plenty for me when I use 6.0 volts (probably somewhere around 80-100 at 6.0 volts). The XTM servos are 34.99 at hobby people and I highly suggest them. The other options are the X-105 for the same orice with 105 oz./in. @ 4.8 volts at the speed of 0.17 sec., and the X-175 which gives 175 oz./in. @ 4.8 volts, but a little slower at 0.22 sec. All of the XTM servos are only 34.99 usd and I highly suggest them. All metal gear too. Don't know about the savers though.

I am just replacing my 645MG after 2 years in 3 different RC's including my LP1 and lots of abuse. I highly recommend the 645.

Yeah, the 645MG was my favorite servo for torque until I got an XTM one, for the some price, or a few bucks less, you can get 175 oz./in. @ 4.8 volts and if you used 6.0 volts you could get even more at a faster speed than 0.22 sec. IMO you can't beat that.

Good point, I've wrecked all mine a few times. Very enjoyable...until you have to buy parts.

The more toys you have, the more parts you break. Buying the parts is always a drag, unless it's an upgrade, but it's always kind of satisfying doing the teardown and the rebuild since you always find something else getting loose that would have broken if you didn't spot it.
Hard to believe that a simple envelope could be responsible for breaking things. Get to the edge...why doesn't the envelope just rip?
