Here in the UK, the HB 2 Pro is a very reasonable price. I have examined one and for the money been quite impressed. What is the general concensus of opinion on this car?

For the money i am thinking of replacing my Storm Pro with either the, Hot Bodies 2 Pro, MP777 or the PBS Hyper .21 (Although i don't need the engine, starterbox of radio) What do people think?

Jamie Booth is doing OK in the BRCA UK championship with his Orion Wasp powered Lightning 2 Pro. Don't know if HB have supplied him with any trick bits that the average Joe won't have access to, but apart from HoBao springs and tyres and some strange diff oil combinations (10K-10K-60) his car seems fairly standard.

If you have the budget for an MP777 then you might want to consider the Hyper 7 Pro UK instead of the PBS. Neil Cragg is also having a good run in the BRCA championship, with a Hyper 7 Pro.

Or you could hang on for the Thunder Tiger S3, or Team X-Ray XB8...

Get yourself down to the Model Exhibition at the Birmingham NEC this weekend and check them out for yourself.

Any more opinions? I might make a trade for one so I need to know if it's good or not. I mean like, is it a buggy that is raceable in stock form, or one that needs to be upgraded a lot to race with? And, is this a durable buggy or not. I will do bashing at a dirtbike track mainly, but I still would like to be able to race it.

I don't own one, and I don't personally know anyone with the HB Lightening Pro 2, but seems folks that do own them like them. I have not heard of any serious "you need to replace this NOW" items. I think it would be a fine buggy as long as you can get parts for it.

Had a look at one at Model Expo yesterday. It ought to be be strong 'cos it weighs a ton (well, 3.7kg actually, which is quite beefy by 1/8 standards).

It has alloy chassis braces and top plates (Carbon fibre front braces and radio plates can be somewhat brittle) and 3.5mm shock shafts. Rear driveshafts are dogbones, but the fronts and centres are CVJs.

If I was looking to buy another buggy I would be tempted to give one a try, and my LHS sells them, which is always good.
