Alright, so I need some hop-up suggestions for my Lazer ZX-5. I already know I need a brushless motor + ESC and LiPo pack. Anything else? Maybe the carbon fiber parts or titanium screw kit?

If you go lipo with the ZX in stock form, you'll need to either modify the chassis pan to accept a flat shaped pack by grinding off the cell holder nubs, OR run a side by side shaped pack like the Orion Carbon 3200 or Peak Racing 3200. If you're patient a couple of these packs will be showing up in the for sale section soon.

Screw kit is always a nice upgrade over the stock phillips screws. Try http://www.teamfasteddy.com/ or Hexscrews.

The aluminum front hinge pin holder is a nice upgrade over stock. You can also run carbon fiber shock towers doubled up, but I'd just wait for the stock towers to break before upgrading them. Rear universals are also a nice upgrade over stock dogbones for a smoother drivetrain, but they are not cheap.

Actually, on the battery holder, you can flip it to a flat side or a nub side. I think I will go with the hex screws.

I'm not talking about the battery holder. Look at the chassis where the pack goes. You'll see nubs which help keep a side by side pack in place. You'll need to dremel these down to accept a flat bottom pack.
