I'm looking at a boat and it has a homelite 31cc engine in it. It is a 56" Areomarine Apache, is this engine power full and reliable?. And if you know.. how fast do you think it could move this boat?

The only homelite I'm familiar with is the 2-stroke homelite weed eater motors.
When I worked at a lawnmower shop my boss called them disposable and always told people to buy a new one because it wasn't worth paying for the parts.
At home we have one of these "disposable" tools and have had it for years and have only had to replace a punctured primer bulb.
Dunno if this helps, but figured its worth mentioning

Homelite is generaly a good engine a lot depends on what mods were done. It's a converted weedeater engine make sure its a full crank the way to know is the pull start is at the oposite side of the output shaft. If its on the same side its a half crank then stay away from it.Speed wise could be anywere between 20&50 hard to say depending on setup and what has been done to the engine.:D

Yeah, closer to 20 than 50! Powerful? No. Reliable? Kind of.
Dead stock maybe 25 MPH. Modded to the hilt then maybe 50 going down a greased mineshaft. The 25cc Homie is actually better than the 30cc.
You're pushing a lot of boat there at 56" but fortunately the Aeromarine hulls are light for their size.
