It is very sweet, thats a lot though! I am going to try either that paint job or maybe true blue fire on my next one.

Because it is holiday season. Must be a wife buying that for her hubby.

That kind of paint job normally sell for 120 - 150. If you give it to me it will be complete waste because I am going to trash it anyway. haha

You have to admit though, it's one sweet paintjob! Don't know if it's $300 sweet, but still very nice.

Thats a damm nice paint job but is it worth $300.00....maybe if it was a Chevy LOL

I know, I was thinking of painting a few to sell myself.

That is awesome. Not to rag on it, cuz its way nice, but it doesn't look as real as some of the others I've seen. The yellow part seems almost tribally. Maybe its just me.. Its still nice as hell though. Not $300 nice but still nice.

I've been trying to get down that technique for a while now. I've come close a few times, but always seem to mess it up at the last bit. I try mostly on a piece of scrap metal because I want to master it so I can paint it on my lowrider bicycle, and if I get good enough on my 1:1! Thatd be killer.

Yeah I would agree. It looks the same throughout the flames, its all the same shape. It is sweet but the shapes are repetative. Still a sweet body though.

Looks like he used a stencil to do the yellow? What do you guys think?

I'm not raggin' on it either. (I have very limited painting skills.) Good looking lid. But I have seen some of the guys here do a lot better.

My friend does that stuff.....that one definately used a stencil...the real ones are ALL hand no sticker stencil crap, but they take forever (at least that's what I was told).....looks like he usedthe outer part of the stencil and just faded into it.....

Candyman, ( or any of the other bad ass artists on here )
do you have any tips on that style paint job???? I know you got skills.....any on this stuff?

True fire takes a lot of practice and a good setup. I know the basic technique, but I can't pull it off. I have tried some of the basics in the past, but my airbrush wasn't cooperating. I got a new Iwata Revolution a couple months ago but haven't been able to try it yet.
The simple thing is that you use cutout forms. Not necessarily stencils, but French curves and the like. You'll see the very sharp arcs on one side of the flame faded off the other side. Usually you just hold the curve on the body. Light blast of yellow which will fade on one side. Keep moving around and putting them on there. Then do the same with orange. But as you layer, you use more fade and less sharp edges. The back layer will be basically a freehand red to give the flames that aura. So, I can see it in my head. But I can't make my hands do it. If I ever do, you know I'm all over Ebay!

Candy, I have seen some of your paint jobs! You should be all over ebay now. :hammer:

Thanks digger. The thought has crossed my mind. I just never seem to find enough time to do extra bodies to sell. Maybe this winter I'll be able to hammer out a few for some pocket change.
