hitecs new 5996,5997,5998 digi/titinuim servos

saw these on there site under new products, what do you think? www.hitecrcd.com/product_fs.htm they have good specs and should be lite with a titinuim gear set.i think there claiming to use the 5997 for both th/brakes and steering but the 5998 would be a good steering chioce as well. i had my mind made up on the airtronics 357\358 and then found this, too many choices.

I was reading about them in the new RCX.
I like the looks of the HSC-599XTG for my buggys.
Wondering what the street price will be.

i found them listed somewhere for 104.99 but can't remember where i linked from, maybe servocity?

I saw that same thing in rcx. Those things are sweet. And for the price I don't think they are that bad.

do they have bushings in the case to keep the gear shafts from wobbling out the plastic case? That's what happened with my $80 digital hitec. I wish I could find a pic without taking my servo case apart. Airtronics uses those bushings (brass). If they have made this imporvement, it should go a long way in making a better servo.

Here you go...

The all new HSR-5995TG was designed from the ground up to meet the demanding needs of robot applications. Incorporating our latest Titanium gears and unique design, the 5995TG servo has all the features you would expect from a robot servo.

Programmability features and state of the art hardware make the HSR-5995TG servo one of the most advanced in any industry.

For aircraft applications, a standard bottom case is included with each HSR-5995TG servo.

The HSR-5995TG upper case incorporates brass bushings for the servo gear shafts for longevity and smooth operation

There are the bushings in all their glory. Very nice. Hitec is gonna give Airtronics a run for their money in the offroad buggy racing market it seems. It should be interesting how well they fair.

that is the robot servo, not sure if the other's are the same internely but i bet they are.i think i may give these a shot in my k3.

That thing is a beast. I would only use that for sterring. I'd hate for it to pull the ball cup right off my carb arm, if I didn't have my endpoints set just right.

After seeing a buddy expriment with the brand new hi zoote futaba's and go back to his 358's, I think I'll just leave the expirements to those of you that can afford it, while i stick with what I know works.

I hear that. I'm not about to a dump my $100 servo which I know will last me 4 years. ;)

I think that last post was sarcasm :)

Anyways, Back on topic, these servos are on Tower with an ETA of Early december. Mind you they list all three options for the sam price. My guess is they are marketing a On-road, 1/8 scale buggy, and a monster truck model.

The others are on there.

I also found this bad boy already in stock : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHZS1&P=0

Torque: 333.29oz.in @6V
Speed: .15 seconds/60° @ 6V and .12 seconds/60°(@7.4V) max

I like those numbers. I don't think it comes with the cool heatsink though.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all, only stating what I've scene.
