so I've gotten used to trying to set up my sons 2wd slash, and the ole lady got one. now this is a closet track high traction carpet, i have cheap flyspy radios, everything else is stock on these trucks. I've read where some guys are backing the slipper adjustment off, and changing what gear lubricant they are using! so my question is on these trucks what is a good judgement for the slippage, and if i pull the diff out, what can i use besides the stock oil, as I've read alot of different ideas on this, would like some pointers as I've messed with the radio settings and tried slowing them down and it still breaks traction during corners

Red and tacky grease should help stiffen the diff, it's not a sealed diff so anything thinner will just leak out.

If you're running on a track try thicker shock oil and moving the lower rear shock mounts to the outside of the arm. That should keep it from lifting the inside wheels.

On carpet when we went to brushless in the slash class I would run.. guys would change out the tranny case to several that were out that were sealed (rpm) but they are no more and use WD 40 on the tire . had to dry better check with tracks rules also the Old S1 worked the best or a tri dot tire off ebay

Traxxas has the magnum 272r tranny. It's around $100. It has a sealed level gear diff you can tune, unlike the magnum 272 and planetary gears. The bonus is it has an aluminum motor plate to help cool.

If racing, that's the route I'd take.

For lube, I use red thick tacky. If I'm away and forgot it I got some grape I use as a substitute.

thanks for all your help guys, now its down to driver skill and honestly not being able to change tires away from the actual traxxas slash factory. has anybody had luck with one of the three factory compounds on carpet
