As I have said before - I am getting another touring car in a few days. When my SFGP gets up to speeds greater than about 40mph in parking lots, it becomes very unstable, and will spin out, even if I dont touch the steering wheel at all. Could this be the rough ground surface moving my stock servos around?
If so, will a higher torque servo be a good investment even if just for bashing, I've noticed they are VERY expensive, like 100.00 or more.

Hitec make some good servos for a reasonable price. If your just bashing, then I don't recommend a digital servo. Those thing love to eat batterys. The unstableness come from your set up, do you run with a body?

yes, I run both the stock body for test-n-tune days, and I have a lotus body on otherwise. Check out the pics in my gallery. Would that have something to do with it? It never flips...just starts not tracking straight, and at that speed, when i try to correct, it spins out.

Lower your ride height, put about -2.5mm rear camber and -1mm front camber. What tire compound are you useing? If you can add more rear toe, it will get your car a lot more stable. If you feel the servo is a main thing that is causing this, then swap that for another one as well.

thanks - i printed that out - am going to try that this evening. having engine problems now - grrrrrr....wont run at WOT. i thought it was to lean - nope - not that - maybe LSN valve is messed up.
ill update u monday as to the steering promblem. thanks.

i found unbelted tires help the wobble.. i have since moved to belted only.. the tires balloon up at that type of speed.. you can buy a set of used ones off ebay, heck I've gottn lots off ebay like 5 sets for 20$ and they were like new still.. racers selling cause they did not hook up.. so go find a some deals and try a set out if ya dont already have belted ones.

Good point on the tires. Get some medium density HPI solid inserts to go with them.

Let us know how you make out after lowering the ride height.

Believe it or not, a body can make a BIG difference as well. Thats why you see a lot of guys running the Stratus body. Helps keep the ride planted on the ground at higher speeds.
