I have an XTM 24.7 pro in my Savage. I recently installed an eNvy 3 shoe flywheel; I took it out this AM to give it a test run. I noticed that, when I would hit the gas, it would tach up to what sounded like its highest RPM's. The car would be moving, but not fast. Usually, even with my stock 2 shoe, if I were to slam on the throttle, it would be laying on its back. Does this sound like a problem with the 3 shoe or tuning? I haven't chaged anything tuning-wise; it has gotten a little colder...

I haven't had a chance to take it apart yet; where/what exactly is the slipper?

your spur gear has a pad on the back.. if the nut on the front is not tight enough, it will slip. you know, the gear that your clutchbell turns? this happened to me too. when you went from the 2shoe to 3shoe clutch, most likely what happened is that you're engaging harder w/the 3shoe which is causing the slipper to slip. there's a little nut on there. tighten that up and go out and try it again.

well, I tried to tighten the nut on the spur gear; it was as tight as can be. I took the enigne out and noticed that when I spun the flywheel the opposite way, the flywheel would spin along with the collet, but the crankshaft wouldn't spin. Basically, I think somehow the collet stripped out and wasn't grabbing. I used another collet and it seem to be tight, haven't had a chance to test it though....

Also check what type of springs are on the shoes. The hard the spring the high the rpms are require to engage. I change springs on my one-road with harder springs and would not engage until I was at 1/2 throttle.

well, I redid the whole flywheel/clutch. The eNvy flywheel is toast; with the pilot nut tightend fully, I was still able to turn the flywheel either way without the crankshaft moving. I took that all apart and put an OFNA 3 shoe on; I used new springs also. The shoes are on correctly; I screwed that up once and am pretty anal about that now. Only thing that worries me is that from the back of the clutch bell to the front spur gear is about 1/16th of an inch; I'm not sure if that's a little too close.

I still haven't had a chance to test it, i started doing the spider diff mod....at 11:30 pm...it's almost 1:30 am and I have work....whoops...
