Ok guys, just the other day i pulled the old 2.5 out of the winter lock up, and i first put the needles back at the beginning spots of 4 turns from closed on HSN and flush on LSN. I also installed a pull start, which i think i might take off because you have to be tuned quite well to get it to work consistenly. Anyways these are the problems i am having: When i go to tune the HSN i can't get the car to hit 2nd gear, and it seems to be revving really high when i go WOT, also i have had problems with the motor sputtering when i give it gas like it would as if the the carb was too lean, so i was wondering what to do there also. Also, it seems to die often when i slow down and dont give it any gas. Any help would be great guys. Thanks Alot

Sounds like you have it too rich. Try leaning it out a little and you'll find second. You'd be amazed how too rich will not allow you to shift.

I aggree with El pirata but about the revving real high all of a sudden check to make sure your tires are still glued to the rim because mine started revving real high on takeoff and even as the car accelerated and I found out that the tires had come unglued

I had the same problem and I found out that I was running too rich. It would never find second just bog down and sound like it would almost die. I richened the HSN and it shifted fine and the bogging was done.:marshall:
