whats up guys, i am new to this, the last r/c car i had was a traxxas hawk 2 back in the day when it first came out. i just recently got interested in gas powered ones, so i figured i would read up on them a little bit and then make a purchase. so basically what i am wondering is, tomorrow or monday when i go into the lhs to pick up my t-maxx 2.5, what else should i purchase to go with it to run it that day? also, about how long does one tank of gas last?

welcome to RCNT! Make sure u follow everything on the DVD from traxxas. If u are going to bash, I suggest a Air filter saver and alluminum skid plates. Of than that it's up to u. It's a great truck and newbie friendly. Good luck.

One tank lasts about 15-20 minutes.

Once your truck is broken in and properly tuned a tank of fuel will last 10-15 minutes or until you brake something.

Things you will need to run your truck on the first day.

  • Fuel
  • Fuel bottle
  • AA Batteries. 8 for the radio 4 for the truck, I suggest getting rechargeable for your radio and a hump pack for the truck now or you will spend a fortune for Energizers.
  • Extra glow plugs.
  • Battery and charger for the E-Z Start
  • Reading glasses to read the manual 4-5 times before starting it.
  • Fuel filter.

If you have questions about any item on the list use the search link at the top of the page.

Don't be in a hurry, brake it in slowly and don't try to grand stand for 8-10 tanks.

Good luck.

Hey welcome to the site!

And about the only thing i can add to eddys list(he covered it very well) is to get a small flat screwdriver for adjusting the needles on the motor. Besides that have fun!
