hi, I bought a t-maxx3.3 about a week ago and i been trying to et the truck to pop wheelis but i just can't get it...... can anyone help please
 
you can tighten up the slipper a little, or lower the teeth in you CB or get more teeth in you spur. all should help you get some extra accel
 
are there any risks if i tighten the Slipper clutch? and what gears do you recomend to get more accel and will i loose alot of top end speed? I'm a new at all this
 
I've been working on wheelies tonight and can't get mine to pop up from a flat surface and am wondering the same thing..... Of course I have no idea how to do anything that was mentioned here. *where's that manual? I know it's around here somewhere.......*
 
Tightening the slipper won't be too big of a deal if you're just running it on the street or in grass. When you're jumping and thrashing, you'll definitely want it loose. A loose slipper clutch helps to shield the tranny from huge changes in revs that occur when you're jumping and landing.

+1 on what candyman said, honestly IMO wheelies are over rated, all your doing is opening your self up for some down time when you loose control because you can't steer and you hit a tree or something and break your ride....:)
 
I'm Pro-wheelie. I think they're fun for newer drivers, learning all the tricks is kind of exciting, for me, anyway.

I have to give Kudos to Traxxas, though, I've ploughed into a few sturdy trees and mine bounces backward and takes off again. Of course, I'm playing in a rather short distance, so that might have something to do with it.

danny3.3 - I'd love to know how you get going on your wheelies, what you do to pull them off and all that go stuff.
 
if you dont want to tighten your slipper, then go down a tooth or two on your clutch bell, ie: if you have a 15tooth clutch bell, go to a 14t or 13t, and that should get you wheeling, tmaxx's are very easy to wheely, especially the 3.3
 
WHEELIES FINALLY... all i had to do was tighten the slipper clutch one full turn and tuned the low speed needle. I'm pulling sweet wheelies

but i also agree with nitromistress is very had to control the truck. today i had to replace the wire from the glowplug besause of a wheelie gone wrong.
 
I like to fly my truck and am getting pretty good at it but the skate park keeps kicking me out....I found out that the hardend CB isnt as hard as the metal spur gear lol dangit...lol

do most of yall use plastic or metal spurs? whats the best

personally i use plastic spurs i have had bad experience with metal spurs
 
plastic is fine as long as you keep a good mesh. The hardend spur is also nice but you have to have a hardend steel cb or you are just going to chew up cb's. Its just a choice you have to make in my opinion, I have ran both. Plastic is fine though.
 
Yeah I've used both spurs and found out about the need for the hardend cb with the steel spur, it will still eat up hardend cb's tho just not as bad
