The only nitro truck I own is a Maxx. In my right mind I can't give it up til I get some satisfactory run-time out of it.
I bought it a year and a half ago. The only stock parts are the bumper mounts, body mounts, wheels and tires, transmission w/some gears and the gas tank.
It's got a Picco 26 Outlaw with MotorSaver filter, THS pipe, HCR .21 conversion chassis, HS645MG and HS5645MG servos for t/b and steer, UE7.5 diffs, Robinson FOC, MIP axles, RPM arms, skids and bumpers, Associated shocks with Trinity springs, JR XS3 sythn receiver and Venom F/S, scottm's RCSolutions bulks, alum towers, Acer bearing kit, ... uhhh... Blazer's old C/F radio tray and 1200 nimh hump pack with neatly wired harness and Ernst receptacle...
I should build these for someone who can run 'em and not make stupid mistakes.
I've been away on a video project. (link to be edited in here later)
I took a break and ran this truck about two weeks ago for the first time in about four months. Started great, ran good, it was a lot warmer since the last time I ran it so I figured I wouldn't have to richen it up. About 3/4 way through the tank it was losing power. No detonation. No bogging. Just losing power. Brought over the temp gauge. Off the scale on a little 400° temp gun. Shut it down. Ten seconds later it was 387°. Found that it ate my pull-start and fried the one-way. I have a good-size hole in the right half of the windshield. I think I need to cut it all out and put in a reinforced screen. Other details
here.
This is potentially a kick-ass truck but I wouldn't do it again.
1. I did the Maxx already
2. It was spendy
3. Have yet to see the ROI
Has anyone replaced a one-way and pull-start on a Picco Outlaw?
Shameless plea here.
