Well i aint new here i am just new to the whole on-road thing.I am thinking about getting the HPI Nitro RS4 3 Type SS Kit,I just wanted to know what the pros and cons were?I know how to tune an engine already i have a Hpi Nmt,so i am set on the whole nitro thing.

Thanks in advance

Jeff

I'm not sure there are too many cons. The RS4 3 is a decent setup. If you're planning on racing, though, you may want to consider something like the NTC3. But if you're just planning on bashing your local lot, then it's a good ride. I have the RS4 RTR 3 and that works fine. It's pretty quick now that I slid an OS .15 CVR-X in it. The stock .15FE is a puppy. But if you get the SS you'll have a better engine.

Yea Me and my sisters b/f are looking in to them to bash the local lot and access road to the landfill when closed. We both have NMT he has The second verison though and we are also think of getting savages. So i hope it snows good this winter. Thanks for the reply i didnot realy think there were realy any cons to it.

The RS4-3 type SS is a nice car to get for bashing. Just as the NTC3 is a good basher as well. I personally don't know how it handles in competative racing, but my NTC3 is a good performer. It was my primary car till I got the Serpent 710. It, the ntc3, is my backup racer.

The NTC3 is a shaft driven car, as is the type ss, so I can only guess the SS will perform as well. Switching from a bashing setup to really racing it, the ntc3, was very easy. If you get the Team kit, everything you need to race is there. No hopups are necessary (short of maybe the engine you initially choose). All I had to do was change the suspension settings and rebuild the shocks, I was ready to go!

In short, look at the NTC3 as well. Lots of support, parts wise, and hopups if you need them. It's a very popular car

I love my .15 SS engine. Very reliable and good power. I very rarely have to tweak the engine

Man, I dont understand everone doggin the RS4 3 as a racer? True they are not a serpent or any other really highend ride. But for parkinglot racing like at your LHS the RS4 3 holds its own no problem! Its all driver and set-up? Dont get me wrong I wouldnt try to compete in the ROAR nationals with it, but I am always up front of the pack on race day at the track, along with a Kyosho V1R several NTC3's a couple of R40s and more. How many of you actually encounter a car at the track where you can say the car beet you not the driver? nitroking the RS4 3 is a very nice ride.
