Well.... got some good news. Nothing was broken in the suspension. Aparently the suspension is supposed to "give" a little so that parts don't break. Just a front end alignment. I hope everything is really ok, I guess time will tell. The rest of the damage appears to be only "Skin deep". I got a new front wheel, bumper cover, head light housing and left fender. There was no damage to any of the framing under the fender or the headlight support. All great news. The damages amounted to only $1000. Compared to the amount of damage to the other vehicle I can't believe it. I just hope they are acurate with the estimate. Nothing worse than having to take the truck back 10 times to get "issues" resolved. If they are right.... the Tacoma is really one tough truck! I should have the truck back they said by the middle of next week.

I wish I had enough good luck to not ruin a car. I screwed my first two cars on my own watch but my current ride has been through the ringer through no fault of my own. I've been rear-ended, had tree limbs fall on it, door dings from FN Georgian.... blah. It almost makes me want to never buy a new car again.

Sure I was happy my wife wasn't hurt, but that's why I gave her the car. 9 feet of iron in front of and behind with doors 16 inches thick that weigh a ton. Anything short of a dump truck hitting her at terminal velocity and she'd be safe.
I heard that. I like some steel around me. And the ride in those big cars is great.
I was running some errands today and passed 3 or 4 of those smart cars. Don't want to ride on the highway in something that I can haul on the same trailer I haul my mower with! What is up with those? Just getting 33 city, 41 highway. http://www.smartusa.com/smart-car-technical-specifications.aspx The mower I'm hauling on that trailer probably rides better!

My kid snuck off with my Dakota. $5500 damage and it bent part of the frame. Took a month to fix. I was stuck with a Cobalt in the middle of a hard winter. They did a good job for the most part. Body and paint anyway.
Had to take it back for a bent steering column and I had to adjust my own headlights.
Know how ya feel Bro.

Sweet looking truck. Hope you will be back in it soon.

Hey Digger, Hope all is well with you. I am very thankful the damages were minimal and the cost relatively low. I definitely feel down on my luck, and I haven't got the new insurance premiums, but I just keep telling myself it could have been a whole lot worse. I guess when it rains it pours! I am lucky though that I had a whole lot of support from family and friends and only had to rent a car for this week! LOL What it comes down to is that I just have to pay better attention. There are so many distractions in vehicles these days and add the cell phone on top of that and driving is down right dangerous. Thankfully there were no distractions at play here.... just an illegal u-turn on my part..... LOL Wifes truck is still in the shop... been there since the 24th of August. Mine has only been in the shop a week and hopefully will be done the middle of next week. It will be nice to be back to normal..... at least in the amount of vehicles in the garage!

May, it must be going around. I had that lady pull out in front of me awhile back, then my battery went out, and now i have a busted radiator. When it rains it pours.

Dale, I'm glad noone was hurt, the truck can be fixed. looks like it did its job and protected you.

I was really surprised at how well my truck stood up to the accident i had, especially after seeing the other car.

I know what you mean. The car that I hit looked so much worse. I can't believe mine was much much less. Tough truck I guess! LOL I hope your situation gets better Blake... it is easy to take your vehicle for granted until it is broken and you have to shell out the cash to get it fixed and the time you are without it.
