Well, now that the absolute MADNESS of the holidays has passed, it's time for me to address my now long neglected rigs!

First up, my Mugen MBX5T Prospec that is due for a teardown and rebuild. Plan on taking it down pretty far, so I'll be needing advice on shock fluids, diff fluids and any upgrades anyone suggests.

To be fair, it's performed terrifically since I bought it, but I know there is always room for improvement!

Sound off with any suggestions you may have! I typically race on hard-packed surfaces that can be pretty bumpy. I plan on setting my front brake bias a bit more than my rear, as I need quicker turn-in. I'd like suggestions on diff fluid set-up, but don't ask me what I have now because I haven't a clue (although my New Years resolution is to better document things of this nature!)

I'd give you my setup but man that avatar and sig ruin it for me! LMAO!!!!!

Seriously, I write it up cause I'm going through it when I get home to get ready for CRCRC next weekend. The only thing with mine is I run the BCE chassis and I drive the truck pretty strapped. Here's a start if you are bored:

Shocks 400F/350R (Mugen oils), 1.5 pistons
Difs 7-10-3
Spacer in front of front lower arm
1mm spacer in front upper for caster
2.5/0 rear toe block
Plastic chassis braces
rear wheelbase thinnest spacer behind hub for just about the longest wheelbase
the rest i will have to get

What weekend? Thanks for the tips, bro. Don't mind the avatar, it's the work of that rat-bastard Smaxxin!

Possibly a dumb question, but it's truly been awhile since I've taken a rig down. Is it OK to soak and clean the rubber 'O' rings in a solution of D/A and Simple Green?

Jet, what sway bar are you running now? I have the 3.0 on there now. Are you matching the rear toe block with the sway bar?

Finally (for now, at least) I have a set of Bow Ties to mount up, but have learned there are low profile CF's out there. Anyone tried these yet or are they that new? Interested in trying a set of those.

Thanks!

I've been running buggy hubs and Losi wheels since Supercross El. I like the lower profile and less sidewall, it feels more consistent and you don't have the tire rolling over. The CF LPR's came out a short time ago and haven't run them since it's mainly an outdoor tire. I have run cut Gators and Switch's though. I have a set of Hole Shot LPR's on the way. I'm going to the big race at CRCRC next week, I won't get there until Thursday though. Simple green probably won't hurt the orings, but watch the alcohol, it may dry them out. Order the oversized orings from either A Main or Carolina's and goop them up with Mobile 1 Sythetic Grease. I just run the stock sway bars, I think it's 2.7 front and 3.0 rear. My rear toe is 2.5 but I may try 2.25 or 2.0.

*cough*

For the record... Cincinatti is NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE to Aurora. Just wanted to put that out there.

Yes, you're right, but it IS closer than Maryland! Additionally, I've been to Aurora many, many times....

GO BROWNS!

Dude I hope you are talking about th truggy

Maybe....:naughty:

Monkey, I posted info about the race in Maysville. Also if you're free, swing by C-bus to watch some racing next weekend for the Midwest Gas Champs. Not sure if you will know any of the guys I will be there with but we will have a tent city going inside the arena.

I can be to Aurora in three hours.....

I can't win. If I stay home I get monkey, If I go on vacation I get Tom. I'm screwed either way... I'll try my luck in Daytona.. more people in 2.5 miles than this whole town probably. Of course I'm the goof running from you freaks while sporting all these purple shirts.
