ahhhh the smell of fresh cut grass....reminds me of when i was younger and had a go cart tearing up my pops yard...the memories

HB1111 you got it right... there is nothing like the smell of fresh cut grass... and Digger my boy you got it right, that there is nothing like drinking a cold one sitting on the deck with steak on the grill after you cut the grass.

Tom

Yeah there is, it's ripping around the track under the lights smelling nitro!!!! You guys can keep your grass cutting, it's almost outdoor racing time!!!!

Man you must have the most understanding wife in the world man. If I drove all over the country racing my wife would hand me divorce paperwork within the hour. I am lucky if I get to club race once a month! I love to race, but I have accepted the fact that I will never be any good at it.

Plus one for that comment!!!! Screw the mower, I am gripppin and rippen!!

Man.... Now don't get me wrong, I love my wife and family, and I have a great life... but Damn you guys are lucky!

She's good about it all. If I want to go fight, she's fine with it. When I have to travel for work, she's fine with it. Racing, I don't give her a choice, but she's fine with it! LOL We had some rough times early on but we both realized we need our time.

Training ....proper training......remember you wear the pants....period.

I don't necessarily mind the mowing, but as I have to cut my neighbor's yard as well (older woman, but I can store my trailer in her garage at no charge) and during the Spring the grass grows so fast that typically, I have to cut it twice. If I don't get around to it two times in a week, it gets so tall and thick I have to bag it, which means adding about a hour-and-a-half to the entire chore. Throw in edging the beds with the weed whip and running the edger along the driveways and sidewalks then blowing everything off, it's a good three hour project each time! Yeah, I know I can skip the weed whip and edging on every cut, but I really do like the look of a well maintained lawn, so I do tend to get anal about those things. Just waiting on my boy to get old enough to mow, then I can sit on the deck with a beer and watch his silly ass cut the grass!

Hell yea!!! I tried to put mine on the mower this year but he can't quite reach the pedals.......I'm thinking about putting blocks on his feet LOL

poop my wife keeps me on a short leash....unless i take her with then i can do anything...

Training... I must have missed that class. I was the one that had to be trained.... LOL

Hey MW... I know what you mean. I have to keep up with mine... once it starts growing it dosen't stop, and with since the fields boarder my entire yard... when my father-in-law fertalizes the fields it fertalizes the yard too. That stuff is like steroids for grass... it seems to grow while I am cutting it!
The worst part is I have to cut the grass while Grandma-in-law on the hill gives me the old stink eye watching to see if I cut my parents-in-laws lawn!

Tom

I know how grass grow back east. I go back to Iowa every summer and last summer I mowed my uncle's lawn and like 5 days later it needed it again it crazy. Ride on lawn mowers rule though.

Oh, if I had a tractor, he'd be doing it by now! My yard is right at the edge of being tractor-worthy, but I'd have to widen the gate on my fence to get it into the backyard.

It gets to be a real BEOTCH when the July/August heat and humidity hit!

Hell... that is how I loose weight in the summer. I just sweat it out! Of course when I am done I put it right back on with a few beers.

Monkey, my yard is about the same. A little too small for a rider, but too big to push. A bitch, ain't it?
Takes me about an hour and a half to mow mine.

Been beautiful this weekend here guys. But I have worked my butt off.

Got Mom's garden yesterday. The tiller isn't very old, but had sit for a while. Float is about half stuck. Should've took the carb apart, but I just fought with it. I was beat by the time I got home, but got us a good start.
Hope she cans some this year. She used to make a killer sauce.
My sister was out there. Have to try to build her a set of steps. About 5' high. They don't sell them pre-made that high. Never cut out any risers, but I guess I'll make it. Try to get them next weekend.

Friday I went out to check something at the shop. Dad had gave the key to some guy that was hauling scrap. Gate was wide open, no lock anywhere. Was almost late for work trying to take care of that.

Today I was trying to get some of my siding and soffit put up. Had one of the guys from the field stop by. Man, I wanted to go out and watch them fly...
Worked on the house till it got dark.

I did manage to fix a few burgers on the grill. Almost makes it all worth it. Felt good sitting there watching the burgers and sipping on a brew.

Thought I would drag this post out. Mainly because I want to whine a bit tonight....

Not a lot of road construction here. Been working on one spot for 3 or 4 weeks though. Gas company.

My gripe is this grass farming crap. Went to mow Mom's about 3 weeks ago. She has 6 acres. The mower Dad had was on it's last leg. After I rode it for 10 minutes or so, I nicknamed it "thumper." No hood on it and the motor shook so bad it looked like the frame was broke. Made it about 45 minutes and the front wheel falls off. Fix that. 10 minutes later and it throws a drive belt. I'm kinda ticked off, been eyeing a Husky at Lowes anyway.
I like plastic.
Love the hell out of 0% financing. (If ya can get it paid off when you're supposed to.)

Husky runs great. But I was still 2 days mowing all of it.
Well spent most of Sunday mowing the back field. Got the rest on Monday before I went to work.
Got a big Cub Cadet with a 5 ft belly mower, but it needs something with the carb. Got a tractor with a brushhog, don't know what it needs. Doesn't have a battery in it, but I have been charging all that I can find. Going to try to get both of them going so I don't have to spend as much time on it. Working 10hr. shifts and 8 on Saturday.

Haven't been able to mow my grass in 2 weeks. Need to finish the siding on my old shack. Been trying to get a little something done in the morning before I go to work. Spring is killing me.

Think I might be off this weekend though. Maybe I can go watch the guys at the field or something.....

HB tell her your going to Hooters for some thighs and brest's see what her reaction is LOL
