guys i need help. i had the jato out today running. Swaped to the pull start. and got her runing.

but now here is the problem (s)

once its running its sits at idle great but when i give it gas it bogs down. ( could it be to rich?)

now this may be related to problem above. it ate 2 glow plugs in 2 tanks of fuel.

the coiled wire inside the glow plug seemed to either melt off or just get pushed up in the plug and caused the truck to die and not restart.

also could the bog down be caused because the tranny is shifting to second right away?

how do i adjust the tranny?

thank u guys!

Sounds like your HSN is too rich and or you have a air leak that is a great sign if your eating glow plugs. As far as the shift point your tranny has a plug on top open the plug and roll the spur gear till you see a small allen head screw in there turn it clock wise to shift later and counter to shift sooner. If your idle is good and it bogs not just die's your HSN is too rich if it just die's or looses power with no bog your HSN is lean

I have found in my experience if you have a air leak around your carb either at the neck or needle's you will eat glow plugs quick. Put some slim around the needle's and gasket sealer around the neck of the carb and that should fix your air leak pretty simple fix or you can just buy a new one like I did because my carb was old anyway.

it just bogs. then i let off and ease into the throttle and it will open up.

it died twice by bogging but would restart.

after i put fuel in it, it wouldnt reatart so i pulled the plug and found that little coil to be pushed up into the plug.

after i get some glow plugs tomorrrow i will try to adjust tthe tranny and lean it out. i had the lsn flush with housing and the HSN 4 turns out from close.

the motor is suppsidly new ish. hmm maybe ill pull the carb off and retighten it down

The LSN flush is not always the best way mine is about a turn out from that depending on your weather. The best way to get your lSN setting right is get the truck warmed up and do the pinch test. Anything less than 3 sec of running after you pinch the line and it should rev up your too lean anything more than 3 sec your too rich. Pretty much fool proof and has always worked for me.

it doesn't just mysterasly rev up or down it stays really steadt till i give it gas which sways away from the air leak thing

Even new carb and motor need to be sealed the little o ring just doesn't do the best job. Get you some High temp gasket sealer and seal the back plate along with the carb neck you will see a huge difference in your car and tuning will be a lot easier. Your lhs will have some green slim to seal your needle's they really need that as well. Pretty much preventive measure is what it is cause if you don't do it you will always have tuning issue's is what i have found.

If you did the pinch test and it reved up for about 3 sec and died your pretty good on the LSN sound's like your HSN is too rich. Try to lean it a little you should be pretty good to go.

Do you have any suggestions on tires for my revo that will work good on and off road?

hmmmm I'm loving my pro line dirt hawgs! they were doing great on the jato in the sand/grass/dirt/gravel.

my brother has the talons on his revo and loves them!

when i raced my other jato i had alias dirts on the back and the alias ribbed tires on the front but that was a 2wd stadium truck.

i say go with the talons

Everything I read in the OP's posts points to a lean HSN.

It would be lean if it just died but he said it would run but he had to feather the throttle and it bogged and died if he just gased it thats why I said it sounded like it was set too rich.

I put 17mm hubs and some really meaty off road tires I was thinking about getting a set of the proline hole shots do you know much about them as far as off road use?

HSN = 4 turns out

LSN = flush
