Hey there fellow bashers and racers. I have just got a traxxas revo 3.3. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction for the tuning help. I am also having a problem with the rear shocks. The cap keeps coming off when I am making simple jumps. Then makes a huge mess that I have to clean up. Thanks in advance for any help you provide.

thats good that you got a revo 3.3 i wish i had one but sorry I'm fairly new to rc so i can't really say much about tuning but I'm sure the other fello rc' guys will help you out

first off, have you broken it in correctly? it should have came with a dvd showing you how. watch it once or twice befor you start, so nothing sneeks up on you. secondly sounds like you got a bum shock body or cap. if you got it from a hobby shop, see if they will replace it. I've never had a cap pop off.

I haven't had a shock cap problem either. I've busted a few shock shafts though. You might have tightened down the bolt that holds the shock on too much. The plastic would form around the pivot ball of the shock cap and not allow it to pivot as the shocks articulate. It could create quite a bit of leverage and just strip the threads of the cap.

Thanks

I bought the truck used and it seems that he has broke it in correct. It starts without any problems and runs strong. I do notice there is a bit of nitro on the tail from the exhaust and it smokes blue so it is running rich. I ordered some metal caps from tower hobbies today. So that should solve my problem about the caps popping off. I talked to the local hobbie shop and they didnt know anything about them. So if anyone wants them they are at Towerhobbies.com and they were 10.99 for two. I have on other question when refilling the shock oil how much should i put in there. Also what weights do you guys run. I have blue springs front and back.

Thanks for all your help.

i think there is a good write up on shock building floating around here. it should be stickied. if you can't find it maybe i can help

when does the truck not run right? or are you looking for just general tuning? there should be a sticky for that to.
