Just a bit of help is needed.

In picture #1 and #2 look at the brackets that are there. my fron tires are splayed out wards like this \-------/ , and they ride on the inside thread. as you can tell from the worn off tread. I would like to reset the setting back to factory setting to where my tires are straight. I have tried to fix this problem by making adjustments, but I cannot seem to get them right. If any what hop-ups can fix this?

Images #3 and #4 show how my gears are chewed. I lost 2 screws from my spur gear, and it causes the gear to become displaced, so I have not run my car. I also have some how seemed to get my clutch bell, and pinion gear all chewed up too even though they are mtal, the plastic gear is not that bad, just a coule of dings. Should I replace my clutch bell, pinion and spur, or should I just get the screw set for my car, and replace the screws and wait until they are totally SHOT?

The wear pattern on your tires does not correspond with what you are describing in your post.. The type of tire wear shown in the pic is from having negative camber which is what you want, but it looks like you actualy have quite a bit of positive camber. Another words the best thing you can do is get a camber guage and make the front tires look like this /----\ and the guage should read 1.5 to 2 degrees you can set the rear with negative camber as well. The tires should cone to the inside of the car. As far as the gears go they don't look that bad but the pic is blurry. If the gears mesh and your not racing just get the screws and run em till they strip.

The tire wear is somewhat of a combination of the two. Camber and toe adjustments. Towards the rear of the steering knuckle is a rod. You should be able to adjust the rod so that it pushes/pulls the tire in or out. In your case, you would want to adjust it so that it pushes out so that in turn, push the tires inward. As for the gears, I can't really tell. It's late and it's blurry. Can't see straight. lol

Using removable threadlocker on those screws will keep ya from loosing them. Be neat with the thread locker as too much will hurt ya more than help. especially around the 2 speed & the clutch.

Well I can tell you, you assembled the 2-speed wrong. I can't really tell from the pictures though.

Take it apart and follow the directions over again.

For the camber, adjust the pivot balls and you'll be fine.

how did I assemble the 2 speed wrong? It works perfectly fine...... I did follow the instructions to the T when I first installed it.

Sorry about the pics being blurry, a $800 digital camera seems to get confused with the gears and distance, i dunno how to turn off auto focus...... I will try an get better pics, but that is not until the weekend..........

Here's my properly installed two-speed tranny. Notce how first gear spur lines up perfectly with the pinion gear.

What did you install between the two-speed housing and one way hub not including the spur gear(s). Cuz it looks like something is there thatt shouldn't be.

If you want, I can do a picture intensive how-to on proper 2-speed assembly, that'll tell you where you went wrong. It'd be like three pictures with just the spur gear part.

ohhhh, i see what u are saying... It is because my gears have only 1 screw, and i kinda pulled it back a bit to show what had happened.... I had pulled it back I know they dont line up that is because I that is how wobbly they are with only one screw.................

Well you're gonna need new screws to hold it on. 1 screw isn't enough. That's probably why you're roasting gears.

Make sure you put some loctite on the screws.

Well I got my steering problem fixed. I moved my top A arm hinge pin to more midline hole. I am getting new screws for my 2 speed tomorrow.

When I ripped apart my 2 speed. I noticed that the 1st gear mount is close 2 the 2nd gear, and I took it off. My 2nds gear screws that hold the gear to the clutch bell, they had come loose, and were rubbing and wearing down my 1st gear mount, and I noticed that they had finally come out so far as to when the engine spun up to rpm to engage 2nd, it spun the 2nd gear screws around the plate and pushed out my 1st gear screws.

I had to re-screw the whole 2 speed setup....

**** MORAL OF THE STORY ****
USE LOCKTITE

You know, when I first had my ntc3, i wouldn't tighten the screws the for the 2 speed housing because I thought i'd strip it cuz it's aluminum, so when I ran the car, the screws would strip out the entire 2 speed housing, destroying it.. I went through a good 6 of those before I realized I was an idiot.'

But yeah, use loctite and make sure the screws are good and tight.

I did not use locktite cuz same thing, i actually did strip out my first screw i put in it. but oh, well, I figure locktite would not work, but I am off to buy some, and the other screws I need.

How can I find out what size screw it is??

Look in the manual, it should say. They're really small screws and they'll be hard to find some that're the same size.

But try your LHS first to see if they ahve them

my LHS dose not have them. They asked if i wanted to order them & they would be in here within 2 weeks. Is there any other place I can get screws???? like just a package of 10 or so? or dose someone make a screw set, I have seen a couple on flee-bay but they dont seem to have EVERYTHING. just the major screws.

Thanks for all the help

The hardware store. On snday my LHS is closed I am a regular at the hardware store just likeI am the LHS. Go the their screw section. they should have machined screws. Testfoit several until you find the right one, then buy 20of them for a dollar :D thats what I did with the shock bolts I break, and all the other mis screws I either break or loose.
