My son and I recently bougght a Savage 25. It was running fine at the track until we suddenly had a plenty of engine power but no drivetrain power. The truck will still move forward slowly with high revs and it will eventually gain some speed but there is no low end quick acceleration. We took apart the cluthc and everyhting looked fine. Anyone have a similar problem or have suggestions before we start to disassemble the transmission and drivetrain?

i second what beason said because when i first got my savage then spur gear nut loosened so much the truck wouldnt move at all.

You know what, I just stripped my slipper spur gear due to me tightening it all the way down to see the engagement of it.Worked great but it did more damage than good. I screwed it all the way down and then backed it out 3 turns. I will let you know how it works out tomorrow. I also stripped something metal in my tranny...still looking what. Had a piece of a drive pins looks like got stuck between one of my steel gears and ate my plastic gear up. ...Needless to say its out..

3 turns?? i thought it was all the way down and 1/4 out lol someone know for sure??

My vote is for a stripped wheel hub. Take the wheels off and check. You should check the wheel nuts before each run and remember that the silver nuts are left hand thread (turn counterclockwise to tighten)...

Yeah see if you broke a wheel pin, or maybe you broke a drive pin in the Tranny. If it went from wheely popping, to barely moving, then something desided it wanted out and gave up.
