I have made a list of some hop-ups for my storm and was wondeirng if you guys think its any good and what should i add or take out of it, and can you guys give me help finding the cost of them on english sites please!!!!

Fioroni Front shock tower,
GS Hardened Rear Shock tower,
Carbon fibre Servo plate,
Carbon fibre servo saver plate,
Front and rear chassis braces,
Fioroni Chassis Plate,
Fioroni Steering Plate,
Special Rear Hinge pins
and fioroni Radio Tray Posts.
Dual disc brakes front and back (Crazy Nut Discs Fitted).

My basic rule if I break something or think it's crap I replace it with an upgrade if possible, but not just for the sake of it. Up to you if you have the cash to burn but most of the mods you list will make little difference. I've had storms for a couple of years now so have a good idea of what I think needs upgrading on the RTR.
Yes the front and rear shock towers are weak, fioroni or GS pro one are about 20 quid each not much to choose between the two makes. The fioroni rear bulkhead brace is also worth having as the rear bulkhead can break when the car lands on it's roof. This is about £25 quid.
The bolts that hold the hinge pin holders (which hold on the wishbones) will often shear or pull out. I have fitted longer bolts that go right through and fitted a nyloc nut on top of each of these (8) bolts. These cost pennies from a hardware store.
As for changing brake disks this could be worth while as the standard braking is OK but not amazing.
Depending how old your car is, and what radio it has it may or may not have a decent steering servo. If it is the older type car with the futaba stick radio I would bin the steering servo before it lets you down. Replace with a high torque metal geared jobbie. Just my :2cents: worth, have fun.:buggy1:

Thanks for the help. i recently snapped my pullstart string and i was looking on ebay for a enw one i found one, and the person selling it is soemone from berskshire. Just wondering but is this you?

Jamie - here's where you will definately benefit from some internet surfing and some personal experience. I started out with an RTR Storm, but through many upgrades I have made it as Rob Zombie would say "More Human Than Human". Anyways, here goes:

Anything Fioroni makes is top shelf stuff. I have their rear bulkhead brace that in my opinion is necessary. My shock towers, front support plate, and chassis is Hard Core Titanium.

I also have the carbon fiber radio plate and carbon fiber center diff support plate. These pieces are stupid stong and probably overkill for what's needed in those positions. I got a good deal on them from a friend. CF is great stuff. Real, real strong. But real, real expensive. Let me point out that all my upgrades came from some stock part that broke. I follow the rule of "Upgrade only if needed". For example, I'm still using the stock steering plate. For now it's just fine, but when (if) it fails, then and only then will I upgrade it. K, nuff preaching, sorry. Your list is compiled of great stuff. Another upgrade that you might usefull is a good set of shocks. The stock ones are ok, but mine failed early. The metal retainer that holds the piston in place fails under heavy landings.
Mugen make a great shock, I can recommend them for the Storm.
The aftermarket torque rods made by GS are 7075 Aluminum and are also great pieces. I have them as well. My stock torque rods didn't fail, but showed signs of wear, especially where they bolt to the chassis. Dual disk......hmmmm.....that's a drivers preference thing. I have the standard stock brakes and that works fine for me. Aluminum radio tray posts.......never saw the need. Hinge pin upgrades........still using the stock ones and they still straight. Hope this post helps you. If you need anything else you can PM me or post it here for others to pitch in. Good Luck !!
