I was wondering if anyone knows which adapter to use to get my hitec servo to hook up to my steering. I tried using the old servo saver but that doesn't seem to fit (I even took the little white adapter off the old servo). The Hitec came with a little baggy of different pieces. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am using a dynamite steering setup
(also did a search and nothing came up to help me)
Thanks,
Michael

u have to get the right inserts that go in the servo saver. i got the Kimbrough servo saver and it came with the different inserts, i just tried each one on the servo and walaa it worked.

The HiTec servo has a different sprocket than the stock servo. As mentioned above, you need to get the right adapter for a HiTec servo when using the stock servo saver.

I would recommend dumping the stock servo saver and going with this variant of the one mentioned above CLICK HERE found at Tower Hobbies.

Why? The stock servo saver isn't very strong and that new servo you are using is. The servo saver I listed above is a heavy duty servo saver designed for use in Nitro Trucks with high torque servos.

You might notice that it has three adapters that come with it. Each one is for a particular flavor of servo. Use the one labeled H (for HiTec)

They are labeled appropriately. The difference is in spring strength and the fact that one comes pre-drilled with holes in the servo horn vice not.

mine had the holes pre drilled. so that would be the heavy duty one?

I wouldn't use the stock horn/saver with any adapter.

Sky has a good suggestion. I'm looking at El Pirata with raised eyebrows right now. I didn't know a saver for a Kyosho Inferno would work on a T-Maxx. Watch out for that guy.

I got the kit that ImBroken linked you to. Works like a champ.

Yes, it's worth it.

I have the proline kit as well. It almost made the steering to smooth. It took some getting used to. The tires point where you want them when you want them. Compare that to the stock set up for the maxx and it takes a little getting used to.

I actually bent both bell crank posts in this kit last night though... bad wreck.

Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it. I ended up getting a proline steering kit. (God I love ebay...lol). As always I had nothing but great input and advice from you guys thanks your the best.

Imbroken and wdavidhicks did you guys have any trouble w/binding when you installed your kit? My steering doesn't seem like it wants to go full turn in either direction. I place my turnbuckles from the tires on top of the steering arm like the stock setup and then on the bottom of the axle carriers as in the stock setup. I am kinda confused now maybe I have the wrong servo ear? I used the white round one that came on the servo. Any suggestions?

thanks,
~michael
