Hey All,

I've just today purchased a spirit vh-l1 RTR Truck. I've got it home, got it all set up okay (i think/hope!), and when I start the engine the car doesn't idle, it runs straight away. The Handset has no effect on the car (acclerating/turning etc), so I am guess they aren't working together? I'm stumped as to how to fix this, there is no on/off switch on the car related to the reciever? Any help anyone can offer will be much appriciated. Thanks in advance,

Adam

EDIT: The model is SPRINT not Spirit as in the thread title

EDIT 2: Problem solved! It seemed to be the order in which i switched things on? It now starts fine (I've boke it in, its gone through three tanks of fuel) but now, when I put it on the kitchen floor and put on some throttle, it doesn't move? Even though I can see the engine putting more throttle on, anyone any ideas? Thanks

Hey,

I've managed to fix the problems now, so if I can help with anything dont hesitate to ask. I fix the car not moving by adjusting a control on the remote that opened and closed the throttle, maybe try playing around with that.

After this though, disaster struck. My VJ-L1 was involved in a high speed crash....with a wall. I got over confident and now the front right suspension system seems shot. It needsa replacing but I can't find anything online, nor a model shop that has the parts. Also I can't find a manufactures address on the box or in the manual. If anyone can helps I'll be really grateful, Thanks

Adam

I hit my car against a wall hard aswell, but i had only broke the front wishbone. it was easy to fix because it had spares.
I can't find anything online for them neither.
where did you buy your spint vh-l1?

I actually won it at the trafford centre arcade as I had 15000 tickets!

I've managed to find parts online, but they only ship to America so I've emailed them and I'm still waiting to find out. I'll post when I know and let you know the site. Cheers

hi
i bought the car from eBay about 2 years ago
i have also had my fair share of problems with the car
- first i crashed it into the back of a car due to interference this broke one side of the front shock absorbers
- next i crashed it off of some steps at the beach this bent the chassis
- i melted the clutch on the same beach
- a friend crashed it into a curb and split the fuel tank
- and finally i crashed it into a park bench and broke the front wishbone and the suspension mount and the steering servo linkage and bent a drive shaft

i have contacted rccarmax.com about parts and they do not ship to the UK

any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Get a new RC?

Remember the old saying, you get what you pay for. You have just experienced this. You won't be getting part support, and the parts are low quality. Go by your nearest hobby store and look at what they got. Make sure they stock parts on it too. It's better to buy something that your hobby store supports so you can get parts for it, and maybe some help.

When i had one, i didnt exactly get what i payed for. i payed £160 for it, i could have got something decent for that. Then like a month later i sold it for £40 and got an XTM Rage.
