Hi I bought a HoBad Hyper 12 mini ST on saturday fancied getting into the nitro sence but since i bought it i have spend about 4 hours trying to get it to start to no avail

The only thing i can see it being is in the box cam a O'Donnell Blue glow plug with a Nitro Range of 35%-60% but the model shop gave us fuel with a Nitro content of just 16%

Could this be the Cause??

I've done everything the manual says but there seem to be no strike to start the engine

Help!!

Does it have decent compression? If the plug is too cold you may have troubles firing it up with the lower Nitro Content in the fuel. I'm no plug expert, but from what I'm read out here the lower the Nitro content....the hotter the plug you should be running. More Nitro can afford a colder plug.

If it's brand new...make sure you're preheating the cylinder as well. That tends to help turn it over easier as it expands the sleeve a little bit and gives the piston some breathing room when trying to fire. Also double check the carb settings are at the factory point.

Not to sound too thick how do you preheat the cylinder i am an absolute noob

Sorry I should have mentioned that ;-) Hair Dryer or Heat Gun works wonders...

just to go over the basics to make sure...
Is the glow starter charged?
Did you prime it?
Is it really hard to pull the pull start? if it is hard to pull, it might be flooded

Glow starter glows bright white as the manual states, the pull cord easy to pull but at the cylinder head should you see a great amount of fuel or just a dribble i just seem to find a dribble nothing that can get your finger damp

seems strange to me

Thanks for your advice anyways

You should take it back to your local shop and see if they can start it for you there they should be happy to help this was one of the first problems i had with my eb4 s2 and my local didnt mind at all.

Now I've finally found out whats wrong as I'm priming it the fuel not getting to the cylinder enough it comes out of the fuel filter about an inch and doesn't go any further you only get a dribble at the cylinder not enough to start the engine so its going back on sat

thanks for the advice
