Help. Starter motors turn but does turn engine

Hi. Can you help. Ivejust rebuilt the back end of my tmaxx. When I've tried to start it the starter motor turns but it doesn't appear to be turning the engine. Any ideas? Thanks jon

Check your one way bearing. It sounds like it's slipping. You may need to clean it or replace it.

What's a one way bearing?

The hexagonal looking thingy that fits over the shaft coming out of the back of your engine. The Traxxas EZ Start motor should go over the One Way Bearing.

Should look something like this:

If your starter motor turneth, but the engine turneth not, surely it is to be the one way bearing, and it needeth cleaning, my brother.
Dippeth it in alcohol, then anoint it with fragrant oils of frankincense and WD-40.
Then, and only then wilst it be good to go.

Is it easy to adjust/ replace?:\ Looked at the schematics and it looks as though bit are going to fly out all over the place when i take the cover off.

Not a big deal. It's a quick fix. Just maketh sure you also cleaneth the shaft it rideth upon. Also make sure to put the bearing on the same way it came off.
