I am fixing to get a savage with a .25. It is the older one that had the .21 on it. Well the guy changer the 2 piece slipper with a 3 piece slipper clutch. But now it takes a lot of RPM'S for it to take off. It want raise the front end or nothing . What do you think is the problem? Is 200dollars to much for it?
Thanks

2 piece slipper vs 3 piece slipper? I'm not sure what your talking about here. Do you mean the clutch shoes for the flywheel or the spur/slipper assembly on the trans?

Sounds to me like he may have used an aftermarket clutch with springs that are too stiff, so they aren't engaging properly.

If it was his slipper your talking about, he may not have adjusted it properly when he put it back together and it's slipping all the time. Or, he didn't take off the paper backing off the slipper pad. The pad need to be adhered to the spur. The back of the slipper pad is a sticker.

I just no he changed the slipper clutch and the top tranny shaft ,he said it was worn out.

He just swapped it from the one pad slipper clutch to the X version that has two pads.
It's what it sounds like he did anyways.
Very cheap to fix. Spur and slipper pads are 5 bucks. Tighten it correctly, problem solved.
It will probably need a new locknut for the slipper. They like to back off sometimes.
Red loc-tite and plenty of time to dry will fix it too.
