the best way is to do all your body cutting BEFORE you paint. The reason behind this is due to the fact that cutting aftwewards tends to mar up and crinkle the paint. Plus and drilling will peel the paint off in that area.

You can cut afterwards too if u want to - it isnt THAT big of a deal - but if u want a perfect looking body, pre cutting preperation is the only way to go.

i might be wrong but i have a bronco body from hpi and it says 1 paint first 2 remove film. So i could cut mine out with out messing that film over it? Please I would like to know. casue i think it would be better if i could cut first.

I kinda go between what NA and NC say, and what some of the manufacturers say. I will cut the body along the body lines. Most of the time I'll drill out the body post holes and just tape over them on the outside to minimize overspray. But I usually won't cut the cooling holes and stuff until after. Usually because I like to shoot a good half dozen pictures of it before I go mangling it. And because I usually only trash one body at a time. So any others that I have get to stay in show body condition.
Don't worry too much about the overspray film. It's attached to the body quite securely so you can cut out the body without ruining the film.

Thanks I was just reading a website on painting and he said that he pre cuts they bodys with over spray film thats for your help guys

I have two specific modes of thought on this and both do the trimming first. If the body is for my personal use, I will trim it, drill the mounting holes, and and cut all the vents (except the windows) BEFORE I even apply mask. This way, when it all cured, it already fits the vehicle and I'm good to go.

If its a body I'm going to sell on ebay, I just trim it, mask it, paint it, remove remaining mask, photograph it and list it with NO HOLES drilled and NO VENTS cut.
