My Brand O.S. Max .12 CV-X Engine is drinking fuel like it's goin' out of style. I don't understand it. It runs great, starts right up, not fouling out plugs. ???

Does it seem rich??? that might be the problem... The richer the fuel mixture, the more fuel the engine will take in.

OS-cv drinking fuel

This info. may or may not help...it depends on how you start your engine. The technique of occluding the exhaust to pressuize the fuel tank and send fuel to the engine can sometimes really eat up fuel; the fuel will literally go through the engine and drop into your pipe. I found a huge amount of fuel in my pipe after a full day of bashing and my OS CV-X was starting great all day too.
Now,I just usually tap the end on the exhaust pipe with my fingertip while the starter box is turning over the engine until it starts...since that last pipeful of fuel.

Well, it really should blow out when you are driving, no matter how you are starting it. It shouldnt stay in the pipe, unless you are idling or something. The way you start it shouldnt affect the way it eats up fuel..

.21, now that I think about it, you're right. that residual fuel in the tank should blow out once the engine starts....could the fuel eating problem be due to excessive slipping somewhere in the drive train or possiblby the opposite ... a brake disc that is draging?

what size fuel tubing are you using the .12 doesn't need the largest inside diameter tubing ,and what do you call excessive consumption?
how long are you running on a tank of fuel ,8 to 10 minutes is good for a 75cc tank ,

Shoot, i get about 10 minutes on my 75cc tank with my .21... you guys should be getting longer with your small blocks..

anywhere from 7-12 mins depending on engine size , proper tuning ect ect.. 75cc tank that is.

I'm getting around 8 to 10 minutes on my Losi with .12 CV-R at 250 deg.
You could have some air leaks causing it to have a lean condition and making you run it rich to compensate for it. Take it apart and seal it up good. Carb base, Motor back plate and make sure the heat screws are tight. Not much you can do about the P/S shaft bearing though. One of the reasons I don't like P/S motors.
