help me please

hey guys...so i have been having some trouble out of my revo the last few times i have ran it...
problem is that several times through the run its like my throttle servo just looses signal...the steering will still work but the throttle or brakes won't do a thing...now i have noticed that the light on the receiver box goes red when this happens...and after a minute it will go back to green and work fine for a few minutes then do it again...this is happening about every five minutes or so...
here is my question...what do i need to replace...the servo, the Rx, or the Tx...it has the 2.4 traxxas radio...any help will be much appreciated...

also have another quick question...i crashed my revo due to this problem and pulled out the ball in my hub carrier...nothing broke and everything else looked good so i put the ball back in and now the truck won't steer very well...its like it won't steer deep enough....this was never an issue before so i had to screw something up when i crashed but i inspected everything and it all looks good...i can't figure out if its binding or if the steering servo is the cause...anyhow any insight is very welcome...

i had the same problem with the throttle and brake. i got a spektrum radio and reciever now it works great

ok that makes sense....but i dont have the cash for that right now...
would the problem be in the reciever....

It could just be interference from your surroundings ie: power lines, chain link fence, other guys running their rigs.

if the light is red , thats probably because the failsafe kicked it or something like that ...are the batteries fully charged ?? ....does it happen at close range or when the car is far from you ??

it can't be interferance, it has a 2.4ghz controller

i dont know what it is though but my dad's started doing it today also.

For your steering problem, you've tightened the ball cup too much.

my t maxx did the same exact thing. i changed the batteries to a hump back, checked all the connections and redid them, made sure no wires were frayed, and then put it all back together. haven't had a problem since. I'm running the old style traxxas radio.

what kind of failsafe are you running?

i loosened up the ball cup thinking that i made it to tight and it didn't help...
i think something is just in a bind i just dont know where...

and as far as a failsafe....i am running all stock electronics...i have added nothing...i was under the impression that it had a built in failsafe...

I'm just tryin to figure out what i need to replace so i don't end up buying a bunch of unnecessary parts....thanks for the help guys...

i hate this damn thing.....lol
the steering problem i could deal with...loosening things help a little so its not a huge problem although it will need to be dealt with...
the big problem is my throttle servo works for 2 minutes then doesn't work for a few minutes...and when it stops working the reciever light goes red....
i bet a revo would be wonderful fuel for a fire...maybe ill use it to keep warm this evening...plastic burns well...

red light means failsafe kicked in .......check batteries if they are good ...are you using a 5 cell battery pack????.....do you still have optidrive on it ??? look at the manual and try reprogramming it

you could also try changing the servo ....i had to take a steering servo once to replace it ...fixed the problem

yea i am useing the 5 cell...it came with the revo...
i still have the optidrive...not even sure how or why i would want to do away with it..lol...if i should please let me know...
ill try reprogramming it....i assume you mean reprogramming the optidrive??

the servo works sometimes...if the red light means the failsafe is kicking in would that still be a servo issue
also if the failsafe was kicking in wouldn't that take out my steering aswell...i can still steer it when the throttle servo stops workin...

you can use one of your steering servo as a throttle servo ..... 1 servo is good enough to steer the revo

the optidrive acts as a failsafe ...and when it kicks in , only throttle and reverse stop working ...that way you can still steer the truck .....reprogramming it could help .....but I'm pretty sure its your throttle servo that is bad ...i had similar problem with mine ... changed the servo and all was good

ok man thanks...ill try replacing the servo first...hopefully that will take care of it...i gotta figure out what is binding my steering to...i hit a 5 gal bucket head on and bashed the right side pretty hard...nothing broke it just pulled out the ball on the bottom of my hub carrier but it must have done something to bind up my steering cause it acts like it has a hard time steering more than just a little...I'm gonna tear down the front end this evening and maybe try running the steering servo for the throttle just to see if that fixes the problem...if it does ill order up a new one and ill be set...thanks for all the help ereybody...
