Wanted to say I love the site! Has been very helpful in choosing the right truck for me.

I purchased what I thought was a LST2 but some people I have talked too says its the LST. How do I tell the difference? The truck has had all the aluminum arms and shock towers added, threaded shock bodies in blue and chrome springs. With a brand new Axial .32 green head on it. Street tires and chrome rims. The truck looks absolutely awsome!

There are a few issues with the truck though.

First off the front end has something wrong. When the truck is pushed down the tires point outward and when the trucks shocks are stretched out the tires go inward. I cannot figure out what is causing this.

Problem two the truck will not go forward. The reverse servo has been removed but the lever that the linkage was connected to on the tranny is still there. This makes me think that the gears are still there, but I cannot get it to go into forward. Also the high/low knob is missing off the tranny.

The motor fires right up but I cannot get it too move!

The clutch is fine, everything is turning but the forward is not engaging for some reason.

Help please!! This truck looks so awsome and I cannot get it to move!!!

Come guys.

I know someone out there has some type of an answer!

I'm going on vacation after tomorrow and I would really like to get this thing figured out.

Hi have you checked the cups where the drive shafts go in, i had the same problem with the truck not movin it was the grub screws they were not correctly located and tightened up, the drive was just spinning also use loctite to secure the grub screws they have a tendency to come out.
Try placing the truck on a couple of bricks and move the reverse and forward gear selector in towards the gear box this should engage forward gear don,t change the gear while giving it throttle though wait a second before reving engine again. Hope this helps but like you I'm a newbie.

Well, to determine if you have an LST2 vs LST1 vs AS/Raminator/Baja check the following:
High Low Switch - LST1/LST2
Reverse - LST1/LST2
Blue threaded shocks - LST2 only
Blue diff cases - LST2 only
Black CVD's at the wheels - LST2 only
20mm Hex wheels - LST2 only
Gold head mach engine - LST2 only
Fuel tank without a cut out underneath for 4 aa pack - LST2 only (I think)
Plastic guard on the back of the two speed - LST2 (maybe LST1 as well)

There are two other differences that I recall, but one is hard to tell.
Rear arms/axle carrier design do not require a turnbuckle - LST2 only
Chassis rails are thicker in the webbing area - LST2 only

As for your trans problem, without a reverse servo to hold the reverse linkage in the right spot, it's highly likely that your stuck between gears. If you do not want reverse, I'd suggest getting the forward only conversion (FOC). I believe it will remove the high/low parts completely and definitely the reverse parts.

For your front end problem, it could be due to the fact that your front steering turnbuckles aren't on the right sides of the parts they bolt to. They should be on the top side of the plastic arm on the axle carrier and on the top side of the cross bar of the steering bell cranks. If either side is on the bottom, it will throw off the geometry of the steering linkage.

Here's a shot of the right side of my aftershock. The LST1/LST2 will be very similar and the orientation of the turnbuckle is the same on all of them:

I just got done putting the FOC in. Gears were ground up and a bearing was totaly trashed. Lucky me it was the gears that need to be removed!!!!!

I did figure out the toe in and out problem. The linkage was on top and the other end on the bottom.

Thanks for all the info! I wasn't sure if anyone was one here anymore.

I will be posting pictures of this beautiful beast soon.

If anyone has a roller for sale let me know.

I'm have my basher, but looking for a racer!

I am looking for two strong servos!

What brand will work great for the LST2??

If you currently have JR servos, then JR is the way to go. Then you won't need to get new servo savers/horns.

However, many guys use MGT servo savers in place of the stockers. The MGT ones are supposed stiffer and hold up better.

A set of JR650M's would do the job really well with stiffer savers.

Savers: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ASC25167

Or, if you want to go a bit cheaper, JR Sport 126MG's run the same specs as the 650's for a bit cheaper price:

Going with much stronger of servo is kind of pointless due to the fact that they overpower the servo savers you can use anyway. So, stick with two that are reasonably fast, strong and metal geared and you will be fine.

does anyone have a walk thru with pics of installing the FOC?

I have installed mine but it seems awfully tight.

I just want to make sure its correct before I put this thing back together.
