HELP!! LST2 axles bind on sharp turns

Hey gang

I have an lst2 that I race

When you turn sharp Lf or RT the axles bind and over a period that wares
down the slot in the dogbone where the pin rides

Anyone have this problem?

only thing I can think of doing is backing off the throw on the servos
but then the steering suck

The binding also slows the truck down HELP PLEASE!!!!

You need to examine your CVD's. There must be something in them making them bind.

I don't think there is a lot you can do other than keep an eye on it and replace when necessary. CVD's don't last forever. They wear out just like dog-bones and cups.

If your only getting less than a gallon or so, then you may have a problem. With 2+ gallons, wear is inevitable as is binding.

Also, what engine are you running? If your running a high HP engine, then wear will happen faster.

tighten the pin!

also mess with your toe angle the toes angles that the lst's come with stock are reatrted and put stress on everything

When assembling the CVD, wipe the whole assembly clean with DA. Then when you re-assemble the CVD add Blue loctite to the set screw that holds the pin.

Let that cure for 24 hours. A good way to prevent the pin from backing out is to use a piece of heat shrink tubing around the drive cup.

The pin for the cv is actually captive once its installed in the bearing / carrier but I would recommend when you're rebuilding it to not tighten the grub screw all the way, slide the inner bearing onto the axle and spin it a few times before really honking on the grub screw, It seems to settle everything and make it run a little smoother, or I may just be imagining things

Also dial out a bit of steering on the radio to keep the wheels from turning to the point of binding.
