RC Driving Style
help, i have a cen tr2 nitro car which i bought used, it has been used for 1 year and the previous owner has never changed the glow plug. when i start the car sometimes it cuts out when i remove the glow start but sometimes it starts perfectly, however when i drive the car at fast speed and when i slow down it slowly cuts out. do i need to change the glow plug? or glow start? thanks

Change the glow plug, and charge your glow plug igniter(about 7-8hours) then try it. If you still have problems, come right back and let us know please. Good Luck!

ok, just fitted the new glow plug, and the glow start was charged all night, the car starts up fine but still cuts off after high speeds unless i keep revving it. do you think i need a new glow start, or is somthing scratching the piston? thanks

Sounds more like your needles are out of whack. If you have the manual, look into it and see how to adjust the high speed needle. It will probably need richening about 1/8th of a turn.

Yhea sounds like a tune is in order on that. You are probably running a different plug and fuel and it want hurt anything to get to no your RC.

should i turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise? thanks

Clockwise = leaner
Counter clockwise = richer
I wouldn't turn it more than an 1/8 or 1/16 of a turn before running it again and checking the performance.

you need a temp reader, before anything can be done one way or another

A TEMP READER IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST!!!! NITRO OR ELECTRIC, BRUSHED OR BRUSHLESS, SMALL BLOCK OR BIG BLOCK, LIPO OR NIMH

i bet they will be very thank full for your reply....
FYI thread was started in 2008 ;)
