Help..! Just started nitro rc 2 days ago

I bought a used traxxas t maxx 2.5r.It is modded and I am little to no knowledge about it. I When I bought it, the 72 tooth(i think thats how it spell)spur gear broke..so i change it to a new same spur gear. I put all the pegs in except the last 3 pegs(I don't know if it will create a problem)

MY MAIN QUESTION is when I turn it on with my ez start it starts up and when I throttle it..it goes very slow..max 2mph. Any problem ?!? Maybe engine problem..? It have a 3.3 engine.

How tight did you tighten the spur gear nut? Sounds like it's slipping to me if you haven't already stripped it again. Proper setup is full tight and back off 1/4 turn.

Well before I start the truck..I spin the spur gear a bit. I don't know how to explain it,but the spur gear look like is about to pop out. It's kind of wobbly when I spin it. Maybe that what makes it happening? Should I tighten the spur gear more?

My friend that spur gear is way too loose.There is a thread some where here that describes how to set it.Basicly you hold the gear and one of the wheels.Then you turn the opposing wheel.It should feel snug.As for the wobble,that indicates the gear isnt mounted right.Dont try run it like that,youll stip it
